Peanuts, Oil and Cotton

You will start out in peanut country in Portales, ride through the oilfields of West Texas and end in cotton country.

It is primarily gravel roads and we will camp at the Muleshoe Wildlife refuge before heading out for a long day of riding to get to Lubbock. The second day is between 80-90 miles, so be prepared to ride!

This ride was featured in the “Plains Perspective” article on bikepacking.com. Our version of this route will start at Eastern New Mexico University and end at Jones Stadium on the Texas Tech campus.

We’ll be sharing some Q&A on Zoom a few weeks before the event.

The event is open to all. It is free for veterans, with a $200 suggested donation for everyone else.
