It’s time for one of Winnabego Cycling’s favorite trips: the Cook Fork Overnighter!
The group will meet at the Coon Fork Campground parking lot, then ride the backcountry “roads” to a dispersed campsite along the South Fork Eau Claire River. Everyone will stay there overnight, maybe ford the river to AKA Lakeside for a beer, then ride back to the cars the next day.
The rough sketch of the route can be found here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/49430877
For the trip, you’ll need:
– Your bike
– Shelter/sleeping gear
– Food (be prepared to sustain yourself if needed, and bringing a stove is recommended.
– A change of clothes for June weather
– $5 admission
– A positive attitude
