April Bike Campout with the Wild Wolf Cycling Collective in California
April 20 - April 21
FreeApril’s route highlights Payahuunadü Valley and educates riders on the complex environmental and political history of this region.
This is a great introductory bikepacking trip for those that already mountain bike or have desert riding experience.
A mountain bike or all terrain bike with a minimum of 2.2″ tires is required for this month’s trip.
🐺 The organizers give this route the Wolf (classic route) level rating because of the mileage and elevation.
🦎 🐪 This route gets the Lizard (dirt & gravel) and Camel (extra sandy) terrain rating. The unpaved surfaces range from hard-packed to loose gravel, and numerous very sandy and washboard sections, with some short rugged, rocky and steep up/down sections.
In line with our mission of increasing access to camping by bike, the organizers will be prioritizing 50% of the monthly campout spots to new and/or emerging riders from underserved communities in cycling.
A gear library is also available for riders to borrow bike bags and camping gear for the trip.
This event, like most of their rides, are for riders who identify as non-binary, gender-fluid, trans, femme, women, gender queer, two-spirited or any and all that identify outside of the gender binary.
About Wild Wolf Cycling Collective: 💜 an intentional space to celebrate, connect, and center ALL gender-expansive and women riders while creating and expanding pedal powered access to the outdoors.
