Between Giving Tuesday and New Years, we need to raise $20,000 from bikepacking community members like you to ensure that we can help make bikepacking more accessible to more people through education, community support and the development of safe and highly vetted routes that are more accessible to riders all across the United States and into Canada as well.
2024 has been a year of continued growth for Bikepacking Roots. As the only national nonprofit organization dedicated exclusively to supporting the bikepacking community and the landscapes through which we ride, we have made significant progress this year in expanding our routes, community programming, and advocacy work all across the country. Specifically, we have:
-
- Expanded our Regional Stewards program to work with dedicated route builders and bikepacking community leaders representing 26 states.
- Published 41 routes in our Community Routes Library across 22 states, with distances ranging from 28 miles to over 600 miles.
- Supported Regional Stewards to host 9 beginner-friendly overnight bikepacking trips across the country plus the first-ever Regional Bikepacking Summit in the MidAtlantic Region.
- Hosted an educational how-to series providing bikepackers (and aspiring bikepackers) with a virtual learning opportunity to develop and strengthen essential skills for bikepacking.
This fall, we conducted the 5th Edition Community Bikepacking Survey, collecting feedback from almost 900 bikepackers and aspiring bikepackers to help us tailor our programming to the needs of the community. In 2025, we are excited to do more of what the community wants! But we can’t do it without your support!
Supporting our End of Year Campaign will help Bikepacking Roots to do more of what bikepackers want in 2025! Specifically, your support will help us develop:
-
- More weekend and week-long routes that can fit into busy schedules.
- More routes all across the country so everyone can enjoy great bikepacking close to home.
- Expansion to Canada to support adventures and community north of the border!
- More routes suitable for beginner and intermediate bikepackers.
- Routes that are more easily accessible from urban areas and via public transportation.
- More Community Campouts and Regional Bikepacking Summits to support community building.
- More advocacy capacity to protect public lands
- And so much more!
As an added bonus, you could win an awesome adventure bike!
We’ve teamed up for the 2nd year in a row with our friends at Priority Bicycles to give one lucky winner a new 600ADX bikepacking adventure rig!

Our Business Partners
Bikepacking Roots thanks all of our current business partners who believe in our mission, have a desire to support the bikepacking community, and have helped our small but growing organization accomplish so much. Please consider supporting these companies, and if you see any of the good folks from these companies out on the trail, please share your appreciation for what they do to support our community.
