Bike Camping to Oxbow Orchard with RAR.NEOhio in Ohio

September 26, 2025 @ 3:00 pm - September 27, 2025 @ 10:00 am
Free

RAR’s next bike overnight is coming up soon, and we are biking to @oxboworchardohio for their Final Fridays celebration!

We will have two options for the ride:

  • Ohio City Bike Co-op in Cleveland (meet at 6 pm, 10-mile ride on the towpath)
  • Blimp City Bikes in Akron (meet at 5 pm, 20-mile ride on the towpath)

FAQ

  • Is there a cost for this ride? No cost, but Oxbow is holding its Final Fridays Harvest Party that night and asks for a suggested donation of $10, and bring additional money if you want to purchase food there for dinner (you also can bring your own dinner food if you choose).
  • Who is this ride for? Women, femmes, and trans and non-binary people.
  • What if this is my first bike camping trip? Welcome! One of our members would be happy to give you a call to talk through logistics and a packing list, and help you feel comfortable with the ride. If you need to borrow gear, let us know, and we will try to help.
  • Where are we camping? Oxbow Orchard Farm & Market, 6765 Canal Rd, Valley View, OH 44125. We will camp in a grassy field there.
  • What is the route like?
    • Cleveland – there’s a big hill at the start, but it is flat afterwards—10 miles on the towpath.
    • Akron – pretty flat the whole time, 20 miles on the towpath, spot to stop for water en route.
  • Do I have to camp overnight? The plan is to camp there as a group, but if you would like to leave your car there ahead of time or bike back that night by yourself, you are welcome to do so.
  • What’s the plan for the morning? Breakfast is on your own. You can purchase food at the Oxbow Farm store the night before (like baked goods or granola), or bring your own granola bars, coffee, etc. We will give the farm a hand with cleaning up, and then we will head out for our rides home.
