Arizona National Scenic Trail Comprehensive Plan

After a 14-year wait, the USDA Forest Service just released the Draft Comprehensive Plan for the Arizona National Scenic Trail!

Why is this important? The Arizona Trail Mountain Bike Route is beloved by many bikepackers, and we want to make sure it is protected and cared for into the future. Additionally, this will be the first ever comprehensive plan for a National Scenic Trail that mentions bikepacking as a specific trail use!

During the month of March, we encouraged our community to share their voices during the Comment Period that the Forest Service provided for public input on the plan. We also worked closely with our partners at the Arizona Trail Association to develop an organizational comment on behalf of the bikepacking community.

We will keep you posted with any further updates as the plan in finalized.
