SUMMARY:High Camp Gravel Social 2026 in California
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”teammateRow”][vc_column width=”1/4″ el_class=”teammateImage”][vc_single_image image=”72400″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=”” image_hovers=”false”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″ el_class=”teammateDescription”][vc_row_inner el_class=”TeammateContent”][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text css=””] \n\n\n3-day gravel ride in the Lost Sierra (Truckee to Portola) \n\nWhat is the High Camp Gravel Social?\nIt’s three days of riding beautiful gravel routes in the Lost Sierra. You’ll stay at Beckwourth Peak High Camp\, an off-grid glampsite on Beckwourth Peak (with hot showers and bathrooms) and share delicious\, catered meals and campfires with other riders. Tent camping (included) and glamping (extra) options are available. \n\nDay 1: ride from Truckee to Beckwourth Peak High Camp (44\, 66\, or 77 miles)\nDay 2: ride a loop up to the Sierra Buttes – top out at either Gold Lake or Mills Peak Lookout (50 or 57 miles)\nDay 3: ride back to Truckee (44 or 61 miles)\n\nThe rides are unsupported (we provide only suggested routes; no support)\, but you’ll experience plenty of pampering over the weekend… We’ll shuttle one duffel bag (tent\, clothes\, towel\, etc.) for you to/from High Camp. At High Camp\, you’ll enjoy hot showers\, catered dinners\, breakfasts\, snacks to take on your ride\, campfires\, a disc golf course\, and camaraderie with other riders. The experience is designed for both seasoned and newer riders who enjoy beautiful routes and hanging out with other humans. \nThe suggested routes showcase the beauty of the Lost Sierra using mainly forest service and quiet\, rural roads (60% gravel / 40% pavement). And there are some short sections of gravel-bike-friendly singletrack. The routes are challenging\, but you will have plenty of time to ride at a social pace\, take breaks\, enjoy the views\, and stop for lunch. Of course\, we strongly recommend training for the event\, so you can enjoy the rides vs going into survival mode each day. \n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:AMC 150 Relay: A Rugged New England Bikepacking Adventure
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”teammateRow”][vc_column width=”1/4″ el_class=”teammateImage”][vc_single_image image=”72719″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=”” image_hovers=”false”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″ el_class=”teammateDescription”][vc_column_text css=””] \n  \nThe Appalachian Mountain club is hosting a three-day bikepacking adventure on a route that showcases everything we love (and sometimes curse) about true New England bikepacking. Expect a journey that’s challenging\, varied\, and beautiful — where forest\, water\, and weather conspire to keep you humble and inspired in equal measure. This off-road adventure threads together rugged trails\, remote forest roads\, and rough backcountry connectors — mostly unpaved\, with short stretches of pavement to link it all together. The route connects the Richardson–Zlogar Cabin area in Northfield\, MA to Barre\, MA\, with two overnights along the way. \nVisit the event page for more details and to register. \nThis event is part of Bikepacking Root’s Community Event Calendar\, where we share bikepacking events across the US and Canada. Bikepacking Roots is not involved in the hosting of this event unless otherwise noted. Please reach out to the organizer for more information.  \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

This is not a good trip for first time rider as it involves some rugged terrain and carrying water for the overnight\, but is a great trip to step up your bikepacking skills and experience! \nProtect the land/area that we recreate on. For this ride we are very near to Oak Flat (Chi’chil Biłdagoteel). The Apache People and mining activists have fought for over a decade to protect this sacred land from a giant copper mine. You can read more about and it and get involved here. We recommend that everyone make a donation to Protect Oak Flat\, write Congress and Senate and consider getting involved in some capacity. http://apache-stronghold.com/take-action.html. We will be riding through the traditional lands of the Chiricahua Apache\, O’odham Jewed\, and Hohokam. \nThe first day will be the shorter but tougher one as we’ll be headed up and over the Dragoon’s for a long 3 mile single-track trail section. This 3 mile section is half up and half down and mostly hike-a-bike for all but the most technically skilled mountain bikers. After about 30 miles on the day\, we’ll be camping out in the Cochise Stronghold open camping areas right past the campground with restrooms\, but no potable water available right before our campsite. This is dry camping with no restroom or any facilities where we camp. \nIt’s possible that there will be creeks that water can be filtered from during the first day of riding\, but don’t count on it. Expect to be able to carry at least 5 litres of water but 6 will do. \nThe following day will be a flatter more mellow 40 mile cruise back around to Tombstone. We’ll be passing some stores in Sunsites for resupply. The day will consist of mostly road with some sandy dirt road thrown in there for excitement. \nThis is a no drop ride. We ride at a party pace with many spots to regroup or just hangout. Campfire Cycling will always have a mechanic at the back of the ride so no one is “stuck” alone at the back or incase a mechanical issue come up. \nWe recommend mountain bikes for this route primarily for the challenging first day. If you’re comfortable riding a gravel bike over rougher terrain that could be a reasonable choice for you as well. \nGiven the intermediate challenges of the ride\, we’ll get in touch with all riders that are intersted to make sure that you understand what you’re getting yourself into…[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:Overnighter to Colossal Cave with Campfire Cycling and Ortlieb in Arizona

We strive to create a positive and supportive environment where everyone feels welcome and heard. We don’t assume anyone’s abilities based on outwards appearance. We take responsibility for our actions and words. We respect the land\, it’s original stewards and leave no trace. \nThis ride is brought to you in partnership with Ortlieb. They have sent us some cool raffle prizes to stoke everyone out! If you’re not familiar with Ortlieb\, we’ve carried their product for 17 years and they have been a mainstay of touring bags and commuter gear. They do a fantastic job of making very waterproof\, durable gear and supplying parts for the wear and tear items that can be replaced\, keeping your bags in service for many years! \n3 Route Versions\nWe are excited this year to be offering three versions in one of this ride. This is our first time doing a three in one and it should make for a good time for all! \nIntermediate Route – 32 miles (64 miles total)\nIntermediate and advanced route riders will be leaving Campfire Cycling at around 9:30AM. This group will ride a paved bike path most of the way to Colossal Cave State Park. The route does have some rolling climbs over the last 5 miles. \nBeginner Route – 18 miles (36 miles total)\nFor beginner bikepackers who are looking for a shorter version of the ride (18 miles instead of 32)\, we welcome you to join at mile 14 of our route at Fantasy Island’s north parking area (See Point-of-Interest on the route map). We will be joining with beginner riders at this point. This beginner section is similar in difficulty to our beginner ride that we do from Campfire to Catalina State Park in the Fall. \nAdvanced Route – 46 miles Day 1\, 40 miles Day 2 (86 miles total)\nFor the advanced riders that would like to join us\, we’ve come up with a new version that incorporates in some AZT riding. We part ways with the beginner and intermediate riders to navigate through fantasy island on the trails. The route splits off from the main route in Vail. While a good portion of this route is on pavement\, the AZT section does necessitate a sturdy mountain bike. Day 1 ends with 12.5 miles of trail riding on the AZT. Day 2 begins with 10 more miles on the AZT. The advanced group will likely be arriving to camp quite a bit later then the beginner and intermediate groups\, perhaps as late as 6 or 7pm\, please bring lighting in case we are riding later then anticipated. \nCamping\nWe’ll be staying at the Sevilla group campground with room for 20 tents. Drinking water and pit toilets are available.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
