(FREE with camping and food expenses) \nDay one\, we’ll start in sunny Sequim and see what this area has to offer. Following along the Olympic Discovery Trail\, our route will take us through beautiful Port Angeles\, where we can make camp near the Elwha River—40-ish miles. \nDay two\, we take the more adventurous route along the Olympic Adventure Trail and find ourselves making camp at the stunning Salt Creek Campground. 20-ish miles. \nDay three starts with a challenging route past Striped Peak and then back through Port Angeles to Sequim. 40-ish miles. \nAnyone with a gravel bike or mountain bike\, the proper gear\, and the ability to ride 40+ miles can accomplish this adventure. We roll out at 10 am sharp\, then promptly open a magic portal to a beautiful\, dirty\, stinky world where time and capitalism no longer exist.\nThis was originally a Truckee Bikepacking Collective route that we tweaked a little bit\, and holy smokes\, it’s a good one\, with some mellow singletrack\, a couple of beautiful little lakes\, an amazing campsite\, and the longest abandoned railroad tunnels I’ve ever ridden through! This ride starts with a kicker of a climb\, but only totals 38 miles and +3235 feet of climbing over Saturday and Sunday.\nThis will be self-supported dispersed camping near Cascade Lakes (6700ft elevation)\, following LNT principles\, so bring: food\, a sleep system\, a water filter\, a bike light for the tunnels\, and a way to bury your own poop (trowel). As always\, this is a casual\, open-invite trip. No sag\, and no registration or money required\, but we’ll try to make sure nobody is left behind or stranded. We all wear helmets and ask that you do as well.\nThese rides are at a conversational pace\, and we stick together. If you want to KOM your Strava or impress people by being first up the climb\, don’t bother coming\, as the best of the party is at the back of the pack.\nThe route link is in my bio. Be sure to download it in one form or another for offline navigation before the trip\, as cell service can be nonexistent in this area\, and if something unforeseen happens\, we want you to be able to navigate back to your vehicle safely. This is a supported bikepacking trip with so many options. Starting Friday evening\, I will be riding from 12 Mile Playa Access to Meteor Cove (about 7 miles\, 4′ elevation).\n\nAt Meteor Cove\, we can set up camp and prepare for the night’s starry show. Saturday morning I will leave camp at 9 am and meet anyone at 12 Mile Playa Access at 10 to ride in. Some people choose to drive in\, a perfectly good option. Saturday is a day and night of events hosted by Friends of Black Rock High Rock. On Sunday morning\, I will lead a sunrise ride across the playa to the terminus of the Quinn River. After that\, we pack up and return to 12 Mile. Back in Gerlach\, I plan on having lunch at Bruno’s Country Club. DESCRIPTION:This event is hosted by Bikepacking Roots Regional Stewards Alex Getty & Ashley Rosemeyer in partnership with Vermont Bikepackers. \nDates: August 15-17\, 2025 \nLocation: Poultney\, VT \nBuilding on the success of our campout last year\, this year’s campout will be based at Trailhouse in Poultney\, and have options for both beginner and intermediate riders\, and a chance to ride or drive to the campout! \nIt’s a chance to: \nRide through the beautiful Slate Valley\, home of Slate Valley Trails\, which has become one of the State’s largest XC singletrack networks. This area has also become a destination for many bike riders as the local towns and landowners have invested in bike infrastructure such as multi-use trails and bike paths – so we’ll have a chance to ride through a variety of landscapes and surfaces. \nMake new bikepacking friends and build community. \nExpand or develop your bikepacking skills. \nConnect with  Bikepacking Roots Community Stewards. \nWho should attend: \nThis event is open to all\, with both beginner friendly and intermediate options. \nThe atmosphere will be supportive and non-competitive\, with the goal of sharing bikepacking and creating a safe and inclusive opportunity to bikepack. You bring your bike\, gear\, food and self-sufficient riding skills and we’ll bring the community and camaraderie. \nWhat will the weekend look like? \nFriday 8/15 \n\nOption one: Meet at 4pm for a 10 mile group ride from Castleton Park and Ride to the Trailhouse\nOption two: Drive or ride on your own to the Trailhouse around 5pm\nGroup camp set up\, individual dinners\, hang out time. \n\nSaturday 8/16:  \n\nCook breakfast\, and get yourself and your bike ready for the day.\nRides:\n\nOption 1: A beginner day ride of 26 miles\, 1900’ elevation gain\nOption 2: Intermediate ride of 50 miles\, 4600’ elevation gain\n\n\nBoth rides will be going through town with resupply options for food and water. Each ride will also be going by several points of interest such as swimming holes\, and llamas!\nAll rides will finish back at the Trailhouse late in the afternoon\, and we’ll have a communal dinner where you can bring your own supplies. DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”teammateRow”][vc_column width=”1/4″ el_class=”teammateImage”][vc_single_image image=”71448″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=”” image_hovers=”false”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″ el_class=”teammateDescription”][vc_row_inner el_class=”TeammateContent”][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text css=””] \n\n\n\nJoin Orogenesis and Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance as we sample the fruits of our labor restoring the Klickitat Sisters Trail over the past three years. \nDAY ONE: 25 miles (7mi trail)\, +6\,000’ \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis intermediate to advanced group ride starts and ends in Packwood\, WA\, and climbs following the Loowit Tier on gravel roads before transitioning to the Klickitat Sisters Trail and our campsite on the banks of St John Lake high on the ridgeline. We will be dispersed camping without potable water\, bathrooms\, or cell service. Be prepared to be self-sufficient: filter your water\, bury your poop\, prepare your own meals\, and fix mechanical issues. The folks at Wild Wolf Collective are focused on using these events to grow intentional\, accessible\, and welcoming spaces in the outdoors for gender expansive and women individuals. \n🚙 🏕️ This is a car camping trip/nature retreat for gender expansive and women campers with day rides and activities. \nThis trip is a 3 day 2 night ‘choose your own mild or wild adventure\,’ with great hiking\, road cycling\, gravel riding\, cross-country mountain biking\, the bike park\, rock climbing\, and lake hangs all within reach from camp. Or chill at camp and relax under the pines. There is something for everyone. Bring any bike or no bike. \nEach night we’ll gather together to eat potluck dinners and share the day’s adventures. \nThe organizers have secured an amazing group site this year\, just down the road from where they have camped in the past. The site sits at around 7\,000 ft in a pine forest and is close to the trails and a quick ride to the lake or town. \nTickets for the event are $35\, which covers Friday and Saturday night camping and a curated digital booklet of bike routes and local activities\, as well as some light programming. Campers will need to provide all their own camp equipment or make arrangements with us ahead of time to borrow camping gear. It is one of Illinois’ ​most beautiful destinations. The park’s 18 canyons feature vertical walls of moss-covered stone and multiple waterfalls. Formed by glacial melt water that slices dramatically through tree-covered sandstone bluffs\, the Illinois River bluffs in Utica\, Illinois will surely percolate anyone’s curiosity. \nThe group will learn about the world’s first major natural waterway reversal in human history as we traverse along the Chicago River\, from the heart of Chicago to the Illinois and Michigan Canal. Cold air starts to sweep across the land when the group will go back in time to relive a catastrophic flood that occurred between 14\,000 and 18\,000 years ago in the Midwestern United States and reshaped the land. On our off day from biking\, the organizers will host a guided hike through the park \nThis is not your average group bike ride. At each break point and along the way\, our guides will immerse and educate in the history\, geography\, architecture and the uniquely beautiful natural habitats and ecosystems of North Eastern Illinois.
