SUMMARY:West Texas Showdown in Terlingua\, Texas
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”teammateRow”][vc_column width=”1/4″ el_class=”teammateImage”][vc_single_image image=”74664″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=”” image_hovers=”false”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″ el_class=”teammateDescription”][vc_column_text css=””] \n\n\nThe West Texas Showdown isn’t just a race — it’s a battle against the desert itself. Big Bend delivers jagged singletrack\, endless horizons\, and conditions as raw as they come. Wild\, unpredictable\, and unforgiving — this is where legends are made. \nThe third stage of the Texas Showdown Series and the crown jewel of the Texas Showdown Triple Crown.  Set in the Big Bend region of Texas\, this event promises to test every ounce of grit\, skill\, and determination. \nThis is mountain desert country — wild\, remote\, and raw. The terrain is rugged\, the weather unpredictable\, and resources are scarce. Nearly everything in the desert either bites\, pinches\, stings\, or grabs. Don’t be scared — but don’t come unprepared. \n\nBig Bend – Home of the Showdown\nBig Bend Ranch State Park and the surrounding desert country embody the spirit of West Texas: wide-open basins framed by volcanic cliffs\, deep canyons carved by the Rio Grande\, and horizons that shift with every mile. \nIt’s one of the most remote places in the lower 48\, where solitude comes naturally and silence is as striking as the scenery. Out here\, self-reliance isn’t optional — it’s survival. By day\, the desert unfolds in stark beauty: ocotillo stretching skyward\, hidden springs tucked into arroyos\, and dirt roads that climb to vistas you’ll never forget. By night\, you’ll ride under one of the darkest skies in North America\, the Milky Way blazing overhead in a show few places on Earth can match. \n\n\n  \nThis event is part of Bikepacking Root’s Community Event Calendar\, where we share bikepacking events across the US and Canada. Bikepacking Roots is not involved in the hosting of this event unless otherwise noted. Please reach out to the organizer for more information.  \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:2027 HuRaCaN Bikepacking Challenge in Ocala\, Florida
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”teammateRow”][vc_column width=”1/4″ el_class=”teammateImage”][vc_single_image image=”74593″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=”” image_hovers=”false”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″ el_class=”teammateDescription”][vc_column_text css=””] \n\n\n\n\n\n>>>Ride the 2027 Grand Depart\, register here\, for the route info and camping<<<\nThe Huracan Bikepacking Challenge is the ULTIMATE OFF-ROAD ENDURANCE EXPERIENCE in the state of Florida.\nThe Original route features over 100 miles of singletrack\, many remote miles of double-track forest roads and abandoned paths\, and a few miles of pavement here and there. During the route\, riders cross numerous forests\, the Cross Florida Greenway\, two mountain bike parks\, and miles of some of Florida’s longest and hardest climbs. That’s right; we said long and hard. \nRiders are on a self-contained and self-supported expedition on this magnificent\, mostly off-road route. \nThere are 4 route options available.\nOriginal HuRaCaN Route 370 miles of the most challenging Florida terrain. Expect everything you have ever heard about the Huracan from all your friends\, with a few more surprises thrown in. This is the route everyone talks about. \nThe HuRaCaN 400 is the hardest and most challenging conceptualization of the route that has ever been put together. This route premiered in 2024. It is also known as the What The F*** Route. \nThe HuRaCaN LiTe is a 325-mile gravel bike route with almost no singletrack or river crossings. It will combine Dirt roads\, A-Roads\, B-Roads\, Bikepath\, and major roads. This is essentially a Skinnier tire-friendlier version of the route. The minimum recommended tire width is 45MM. \nThe HuRaCaN HeaVy is a 330-mile route that could be done with a gravel bike. It has more singletrack than its LiTe predecessor. Like the LiTe\, it has no river crossings\, but it may take some sandy and primitive connectors to have even LESS pavement than the LiTe Route. \nWhat you are purchasing is the information to ride the route. Information will be dispatched to riders on November 15th. This information is licensed per individual and cannot be transferred to another rider\, and once the information is shared\, it cannot be refunded. \nIn 2027\, we are going to rent the entire campground again. Pricing will be simplified; what you pay includes parking and/or camping for the event\, your schwag\, Friday night pizza party\, and drinks. More musicians\, bigger expo\, consider this the premier festival celebrating Florida bikepacking\, and it just so happens some folks are gonna go on long rides.\nRiders are encouraged to start arriving at the Campground as early as February 4th\, as on Friday\, we will have a shakedown group ride\, expo\, pizza party\, and live music! There is a firm cutoff for your adventure\, as all riders must be off course no later than the 11th of February at 11 am. \nIf you are planning to participate in the event and do not need to camp\, your fee includes parking in the day use area and the use of the facilities to either sleep or shower after your ride. \nRiders who want to be scored must be tracked by Trackleaders and will decide which route they want to ride when they register for that service. Since we embrace and embody the true spirit of bicycle travel\, riders touring the route are free to mix and match the 4 routes to their liking. \nThis event is bound by the rules of self-supported off-road endurance events with a few exceptions; details will be provided as we get closer to the grand depart.\nOnce you join the event\, riders will be emailed the route information no later than November 15th\, 2026. Information will be shared via an RWGPS event link for the route and Google Drive folder access for the guide and other important documents. Final route versions and amendments will be finalized by November 15th\, 2026. This year\, the Grand Départ riders will choose which direction they travel\, Clockwise or Anti-Clockwise; you decide! \nIf you have any questions\, email me at Karlos@singletracksamurai.com\n\n\n\n\n\nThis event is part of Bikepacking Root’s Community Event Calendar\, where we share bikepacking events across the US and Canada.
