This is the biggest day. About 75 miles and camp at the national park. \nDay 2 Roll out around noon and slow roll our way about 45 miles up to Weko Beach Campground in Bridgman\, MI. \nDay 3 is a chill day. Relax on the beach all day or ride into town for some beers or hop on the 25ish mile loop that an OOFD will be leading. Or even go adventure off on your own through the gorgeous country roads of Michigan beer and wine country. So much good beer\, food\, wine\, and beach to explore. The campground is a 4 minute walk to a stellar beach and the epic dunes of Warren are just a few minute walk down the beach. \nDay 4 we ride about 40 miles up to Van Buren State Park which is just south of Grand Haven\, MI. \nDay 5 we ride about 60 miles to South Bend\, IN and hop the South Shore Train back to the city. A UHaul will transport bikes back to Chicago as the South Bend stop cannot take bikes this year due to track construction. \nSupport: Sag van that will carry one school sized backpack per rider \nLodging: \nThursday – Dunewood Campground – Indiana Dunes\, IN \nFriday/Saturday – Weko Beach Campground – Bridgeman\, MI \nSunday – Van Buren State Park – Van Buren\, MI \nPace: 12-15mph \nTrail/Route: Paved road with minimal gravel incorporated and possible snow. \nAge: Adult Ride (21+) \nTrip Description\nWhat’s Included: 4 nights/5 days of bike camping (It is possible to join us a day late and leave a day early if needed) \nThis ride is an ecstatic celebration of Lake Michigan and all that it coast has to offer. This is going down in the heart of the summer and there will be plenty of chances to go swimming in our gem of a lake. Hence the name\, the SWMI\, “swimmy”\, ride. Roll with some of the best guides OOFD has to offer as we finally break into our 4th state\, Michigan! Learn about the ecology of the lake and the lake shore while also exploring some of its hidden gems and excellent local spots. \nThe organizers understand pulling off a 5 day ride might be tough\, so you can join us Thursday night or Friday morning at the IN Dunes. The south shore train is super convenient for this. Also\, if you need to dip out on Sunday\, the Amtrak and South Shore can get ya back to the city no problem. SUMMARY:Bodfish Bike Camping with California Travis in the Lassen National Forest in California

This route goes over Humboldt and Humbug summits\, stops at an ice cold spring on the PCT\, a naturally carbonated spring off Cottonwood Meadow\, and we camp in the woods along Butt Creek. It’s one of our most remote routes\, with no amenities\, no stores\, no collaborators\, and no cell service. Just us\, forests\, dirt\, and creeks. \nJuly 19th\, we roll out of the Jonesville Snowmobile Parking Lot at 10 am sharp. This route is 95% gravel\, 55 miles total\, with 5100 feet of climbing\, spread over two days. \nThis will be self-supported dispersed camping following LNT principles\, so bring: food\, sleep system\, a water filter\, and a way to bury your own poop (trowel). As always\, this is a casual\, open-invite trip. There is no sag\, and no registration or money required\, but we’ll try to make sure nobody is left behind or stranded. We all wear helmets and ask that you do as well. \nThese rides are at a conversational pace\, and we stick together. If you want to KOM your Strava or impress people by being first up the climb\, don’t bother coming\, as the best of the party is at the back of the pack.\nThe route link is in my bio. Be sure to download it in one form or another before the trip\, as cell service can be nonexistent in this area\, and if something unforeseen happens\, we want you to be able to navigate back to your vehicle safely. We roll out at 10 am sharp\, then promptly open a magic portal to a beautiful\, dirty\, stinky world where time and capitalism no longer exist.\nThis was originally a Truckee Bikepacking Collective route that we tweaked a little bit\, and holy smokes\, it’s a good one\, with some mellow singletrack\, a couple of beautiful little lakes\, an amazing campsite\, and the longest abandoned railroad tunnels I’ve ever ridden through! This ride starts with a kicker of a climb\, but only totals 38 miles and +3235 feet of climbing over Saturday and Sunday.\nThis will be self-supported dispersed camping near Cascade Lakes (6700ft elevation)\, following LNT principles\, so bring: food\, a sleep system\, a water filter\, a bike light for the tunnels\, and a way to bury your own poop (trowel). As always\, this is a casual\, open-invite trip. No sag\, and no registration or money required\, but we’ll try to make sure nobody is left behind or stranded. We all wear helmets and ask that you do as well.\nThese rides are at a conversational pace\, and we stick together. If you want to KOM your Strava or impress people by being first up the climb\, don’t bother coming\, as the best of the party is at the back of the pack.\nThe route link is in my bio. This is a supported bikepacking trip with so many options. Starting Friday evening\, I will be riding from 12 Mile Playa Access to Meteor Cove (about 7 miles\, 4′ elevation).\n\nAt Meteor Cove\, we can set up camp and prepare for the night’s starry show. Saturday morning I will leave camp at 9 am and meet anyone at 12 Mile Playa Access at 10 to ride in. Some people choose to drive in\, a perfectly good option. Saturday is a day and night of events hosted by Friends of Black Rock High Rock. On Sunday morning\, I will lead a sunrise ride across the playa to the terminus of the Quinn River. After that\, we pack up and return to 12 Mile. Back in Gerlach\, I plan on having lunch at Bruno’s Country Club. DESCRIPTION:This event is hosted by Bikepacking Roots Regional Stewards Alex Getty & Ashley Rosemeyer in partnership with Vermont Bikepackers. \nDates: August 15-17\, 2025 \nLocation: Poultney\, VT \nBuilding on the success of our campout last year\, this year’s campout will be based at Trailhouse in Poultney\, and have options for both beginner and intermediate riders\, and a chance to ride or drive to the campout! \nIt’s a chance to: \nRide through the beautiful Slate Valley\, home of Slate Valley Trails\, which has become one of the State’s largest XC singletrack networks. This area has also become a destination for many bike riders as the local towns and landowners have invested in bike infrastructure such as multi-use trails and bike paths – so we’ll have a chance to ride through a variety of landscapes and surfaces. \nMake new bikepacking friends and build community. \nExpand or develop your bikepacking skills. \nConnect with  Bikepacking Roots Community Stewards. \nWho should attend: \nThis event is open to all\, with both beginner friendly and intermediate options. \nThe atmosphere will be supportive and non-competitive\, with the goal of sharing bikepacking and creating a safe and inclusive opportunity to bikepack. You bring your bike\, gear\, food and self-sufficient riding skills and we’ll bring the community and camaraderie. \nWhat will the weekend look like? \nFriday 8/15 \n\nOption one: Meet at 4pm for a 10 mile group ride from Castleton Park and Ride to the Trailhouse\nOption two: Drive or ride on your own to the Trailhouse around 5pm\nGroup camp set up\, individual dinners\, hang out time. \n\nSaturday 8/16:  \n\nCook breakfast\, and get yourself and your bike ready for the day.\nRides:\n\nOption 1: A beginner day ride of 26 miles\, 1900’ elevation gain\nOption 2: Intermediate ride of 50 miles\, 4600’ elevation gain\n\n\nBoth rides will be going through town with resupply options for food and water. Each ride will also be going by several points of interest such as swimming holes\, and llamas!\nAll rides will finish back at the Trailhouse late in the afternoon\, and we’ll have a communal dinner where you can bring your own supplies.
