Emily Elliott is the contact person for the event and can be reached at emilyelliott43@gmail.com. \nThe Route and Experience \nThe Ranchita Rambler Grand Depart is not a race but rather a relaxed weekend of bikepacking with friends. Riders will start and camp together but are encouraged to ride at their own pace and navigate the route independently. The journey begins and ends in Ranchita\, CA\, at the Ranchita Bodega. \nDay one kicks off with some early climbs through the Ranchita foothills\, followed by a thrilling sandy descent down Grapevine Canyon into the Anza Borrego Desert. Riders will then tackle a paved section with a narrow shoulder\, leading to the scenic Cactus Valley double track. The route also passes the famous Borrego Springs metal sculptures\, adding a cultural touch to the adventure. \nThe first night’s campsite will be at Borrego Palm Canyon Campground\, where riders can enjoy amenities like flush toilets and coin-operated hot showers while gazing at the breathtaking night sky. Along the way\, there are opportunities to refuel with quintessential California burritos in the town of Borrego Springs. \nOn day two\, riders can either grab breakfast in camp or start their ascent up the iconic Montezuma Valley Road\, also known as the “Glass Elevator” for its panoramic views of the desert floor. The climb\, with its 3\,300-foot elevation gain\, is challenging\, but the vistas are worth the effort. The route then leads through the Culp Valley Cultural Preserve\, offering double track trails and educational sites with views extending to the Salton Sea. For those preferring a less sandy option\, the Culp Valley segment can be bypassed by staying on the pavement. \nThe ride concludes back in Ranchita. SUMMARY:River to Sea Loop with Karlos Bernart (Singletrack Samurai) in Florida - SOLD OUT
DESCRIPTION:River to Sea Loop is a group bicycle tour that takes riders to scenic springs\, the Ocean\, and Iconic Towns using as much dirt as possible. \nThe start location for this year’s tour has not been finalized but it will be somewhere near Pierson or Seville. On the way around the loop\, riders will visit cool springs\, the Ocean\, and the oldest city in the United States. The route will be a mix of dirt\, pavement\, bike paths\, and singletrack. The route is not finalized but is expected to be in the 160 – 200 mile range. There plenty of Surprises are in store for 2024. \nThis route is Self-supported\, there are no sag wagons. Everyone will restock from stores and commercial establishments as they smake our way around the loop. Riders are expected to carry their gear and supplies. There will be a group camp the night before the start with complimentary beverages and a Saturday night party with food and drinks! \nFull details will be available as soon as the route is finalized. The route will be final on October 8th. This is a group ride with a guide\, we will stay together and regroup as needed. \nThe price is 100$ and there will be a commemorative patch! \nRoute Files\, Guide\, and Waypoint Files will be final and event-ready by October 8th. DESCRIPTION:🎊 Join RAR.Austin for a 2 day\, 1 night bikepacking trip Sat Nov 9 to Sun Nov 10 to Palmetto State Park! This is an intermediate level trip for riders who are trans women and men\, non-binary\, and cis women. The trip is self-supported and covers 125+ miles over two days (more if you intend to ride to the start!) If this is your first trip\, please reach out @rar.austin on Instagram to see if this is a good fit. \n📝 If interested\, fill out the RSVP form at the bio and pay $5 on Venmo\, handle is annagu – this covers all individual costs for the trip\, which is supported by funds from @radical.adventure.riders \n🌀 Space is limited to 16 people. \n🌳 Route: Primarily biking on paved roads and some gravel. One way is 65 miles\, 2\,500 ft elevation from the southeast part of town (RADIO/EAST on Montopolis Dr.) This will be a no drop ride\, but there may be points where riders spread out into separate groups. The group will stop before major turns and highway crossings and regroup. \n🚲 Bike: Touring bike\, gravel\, or cross bike is recommended. This is a self-supported ride with no organized SAG vehicle. Please arrange your own plan B if the trip does not go according to plan. \n💜 Gear: Sleeping system (shelter\, sleeping bag\, pad)\, cooking gear\, clothing for riding\, lounging\, and sleeping. SUMMARY:Intermediate Overnighter to Ironwood w/ Campfire Cycling in Arizona - SOLD OUT
DESCRIPTION:***If you would like to join this ride\, but it is cost prohibitive to do so or if you need to borrow gear to make it happen\, please reach out directly to Campfire Cycling. \nCampfire Cycling is headed to Ironwood national forest to do the Ironwood loop. Route is 48 miles with 1600 feet of climbing\, but don’t let those numbers fool you\, there is some sand and chonk that make for some nice longish days of riding. \nThis trip does have some challenges to it. The organizers are calling it intermediate level and not advisable as a first time bikepacking trip due to some of the rocky and sandy sections that add a challenge as well as the need to carry most of your water. \nThe terrain is mostly gravel roads with some rough and sandy sections. The organizers recommend a minimum of 50mm tires but bigger tires will get you though the sand easier and add plush to the chunk \nThe group be riding to about mile 22 to camp the first night just before the gate. Camp will be right next Cocoraque Butte (the O’odham name is Shontok) Petroglyph site (1 mile out and bike hike). Plan on carrying about 4-6 litres of water per day\, there are few cow tanks that can be filtered from as well as a potential cache spot a mile 30. \nRead about what to expect here: https://bikepacking.com/routes/ironwood-overnighter/ \nThe ride will be self-supported and the organizers do not have plans for a sag wagon to join us. There is a good place to cache water at the Ironwood National Monument Trailhead (Mile 30). There will not be water at camp however there is water available about mile 6\, 9\, 10\, 12 and 40 in cow troughs you can filter from. The organizers recommend carrying 4 to 6 liters of water per day if you don’t plan on filtering or want to do a cache for the 2nd day. \nOrganizers will be contacting everyone who signs up for the ride to make sure they are prepared for the ride. \nThe group will be parking cars and meeting at the start of the route at the Titan II Missile interpretive site (The beginning and end of the route). Rolling at 9am.

SUMMARY:Gila 100 Bikepack Grand Depart
DESCRIPTION:Formerly the long course of the Antelope Peak Challenge\, it was later turned into it’s own event beginning at Picketpost and finishing at Tiger Mine TH in Oracle. After participation dwindled (this is a super hard single day ride with the fastest riders completing it in 12 hours\, and stragglers finishing in 20+) organizers have decided to experiment with breaking this outstanding stretch of the Arizona National Scenic Trail into 2 big hefty days of riding. Speaking of the AZT\, please consider donating to the AZT Association! \nBeginning in 2025\, though\, this event will be a point-2-point\, 2 day stage event just like the Coconino 250. This means there will be a coordinated campsite at the end of day 1\, roughly mile 64. Of course anyone is welcome to do the full 100-mile event on the Arizona Trail without the camping if they so choose. \nOrganizers will flip the direction every year\, with a 2025 group depart from Tiger Mine\, and finish at Pickepost trailhead in Superior. \nSee website for detailed information. \nRegister\nThis ride is limited to 74 riders. You don’t have to worry about sleeping outside on this 190+ mile journey as we will be staying both nights at Camp Suwannee which offers options for riders to sleep inside one of two bunkhouses. Since the group will stay at the same camp both nights\, riders can ride on Day 2 with just the supplies needed to complete the day ride. Riders will not have to break down their camps on Saturday morning and can leave their tents until they return to sleep in the evening. \nThis year there will be two options for the route. SUMMARY:Winter Solstice Pine Grove Loop Overnight with Kurstin Gerard Graham in Nevada
DESCRIPTION:Lets do this! A Winter Solstice Bikepacking overnight in the Pine Grove Hills! The route is a 35 mile loop up to the ghost mining town of Pine Grove. Pine Grove is extremely well preserved and tucked into a dense forest of pinyon pine. The plan is to camp near Pine Grove proper\, 16 miles in\, 2500′ of climbing. The group should have time to explore the site and even beyond. On day 2 the group will return via Garden Canyon\, a new route for the organizer but has been on his list for years! Day 2 numbers are 19 miles\, 2500′ of climbing\, with a net descent. After the trip Kurstin hopes everyone can join in for a post-ride meal at Rosie’s Place in Wellington. The route is rugged jeep trails\, so Kustin recommends mountain bike sized tires. Gravel bikes will be underbiking at times. SUMMARY:Cross Florida: The Spanish\, Fort Desoto to Saint Augustine with Karlos Bernart (SingleTrack Samurai)
DESCRIPTION:The Spanish Indian Trail is a coast-to-coast fat tire route created by Patrick Thomsen\, Matt Wiggins\, and Karlos Bernart. This year riders will travel from the east coast at Castillo De San Marco in Saint Augustine to finish at the West Coast in Fort DeSoto located in Saint Petersburg. The route is a Patchwork Quilt of singletrack\, forest roads\, double track\, grassy track\, bike paths\, and paved roads. This year there will be two options available\, a 520-mile odyssey and a 420-mile option. \nThe organizers will also offer a shuttle for riders this year. The shuttle will pick riders up at the finish in Fort DeSoto and transport riders to a location close to the start in Saint Augustine. Shuttle pick-up will be at 11 am on Friday\, January 3rd. If you want a spot on the shuttle\, choose that ticket option in addition to your route choice. \nEach ticket option provides riders with the route\, guide\, and resource information; once purchased\, this is non-refundable. DESCRIPTION:This Spring Solstice Community Campout will be hosted with the support of Bikepacking Roots.\n\n\nCampout will require registration through Bikepacking Roots\, a link will be posted here once available.\n\nThe event is free but registration helps with communication.\n\nThe group will start at Big Shark West and utilize the Monarch Levee trail and many beautiful west St Louis County roads to the Otis Brown Shelter at Greensfelder County Park. This shelter is completely enclosed with an indoor fireplace\, many picnic tables\, and an outhouse within close proximity.\n\nThe route will be completely paved and total about 45 miles.

SUMMARY:Huracan Bikepacking Challenge with Karlos Bernart (SingleTrack Samurai) in Florida
DESCRIPTION:The Huracan Bikepacking Challenge is the ULTIMATE OFF-ROAD ENDURANCE EXPERIENCE in the state of Florida. The Original route features over 100 miles of singletrack\, many remote miles of double-track forest roads and abandoned paths\, and a few miles of pavement here and there. During the route\, riders cross numerous forests\, The Cross Florida Greenway\, two mountain bike parks\, and miles of some of Florida’s longest and hardest climbs. That’s right; we said long and hard. \nRiders are on a self-contained and self-supported expedition on this magnificent mostly off-road route. \nThere are 3 route options available. \nOriginal HuRaCaN Route\,370 miles of the most challenging Florida terrain. Expect everything you have ever heard about the Huracan from all your friends\, with a few more surprises thrown in. This is the route everyone talks about. \nThe HuRaCaN Lite is a 330-mile route with almost no singletrack or river crossings. It will combine Dirt roads\, A-Roads\, B-Roads\, Bikepath\, and major roads. This is essentially a Skinnier tire friendlier version of the route. The minimum recommended tire width is 45MM. \nThe HuRaCaN 400\, is the hardest and most challenging conceptualization of the route that has ever been put together. This route premiered in 2024 it is also known as the What The F*** Route. \nWhat you are purchasing is the information to ride the route. This information is licensed per individual and cannot be transferred to another rider or refunded. Participating in self-supported off-road the grand depart is a benefit provided as a courtesy by the adventure coordinator and all folks who purchase the route information will get an invite. \nThis event is bounded by the rules of self-supported off-road endurance events with a few exceptions\, details will be provided closer to the grand depart. \nOnce you join the event\, riders can expect to start seeing the preliminary information delivered to their inbox on or before August 1st\, 2024. Information will be shared via an RWGPS event link for the route and Google Drive folder access for the guide and other important documents.
