SUMMARY:Nutmeg Noreaster Vol 9 with Ron's Bikes in Killingworth\, Connecticut - WAIT LIST
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”teammateRow”][vc_column width=”1/4″ el_class=”teammateImage”][vc_single_image image=”71734″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=”” image_hovers=”false”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″ el_class=”teammateDescription”][vc_row_inner el_class=”TeammateContent”][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text css=””]another world championship of alt biking and liking — the 9th annual! this year\, like last year and the year before\, will be held at Dear Lake Camp in Killingworth\, Connecticut — enveloped in quaintness and it’s trappings. what deep pleasures in these soft times of bumpy bike rides! \nhere is some media from 2 years so you can get an idea of what you are getting into \nrons bikes coverage ::: the Radavist coverage ::: Bikepacking.com coverage ::: \nif you skipped a year\, like last year there are no “nearly all you can eat” pizza tickets. a few slices is included with your reg for everyone — we pushed our pizza purveyors to the limits — so we are bringing in more food for purchase from farmer Jess and a vegan food truck. We will also have a coffee cart from a new local Minnow Coffee. \nDrought conditions: last year a fire ban went into effect the week before the event. its pretty dry again so far this year\, but we will certainly hope for rain — just not on our weekend of course … rain or shine or drought we are on. \nVolunteers: there is a discounted ticket for volunteers to select on bikereg. \nCamp Options: there are Cabins and bunk houses on the premises\, lean-to shelters\, tent camping\, and car camping zones. camp sites and bunk cabins are first come first serve on Friday starting at NOON. \nGetting there: from NYC the metro north to New Haven\, transfer to shoreline east to Clinton. Dear Lake is 5 pleasant miles from the station. Roll on bike service and all. could do the same from Boston I suppose. you can always drive too — there will be plenty of parking\, but we always like to not have tooooo many cars involved. If flying\, Bradley International Airport (BDL) is an hour drive. \nroutes to the event: I make up a few country options each year from the New Haven train station and Clinton train station. Old Saybrook too if you are coming from Boston. those will be emailed by Thursday before the event. \nWhy this date?: this is the weekend when the last fall foliage of New England reaches it’s peak — a farewell in many ways. \nYard Sale Swa(m)p meet: it’s 20 bucks extra at reg to sell bikes\, parts\, merch\, bespoke wooden dildos etc. There will be a special designated covered area for this part of the event in the great hall. 20 (down 5 from last year as it was too tight) vendor tickets are available — 8ft folding table included. there will be wifi in this area this year to make electronic payments easier. \nClasses: not sure if we are going to bother this year\, but if you really want something\, email Tenzin@ronsbikes.com[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:The 2025 Kings Road Coast to Coast Dirt Road Challenge with Karlos Bernart (SingleTrack Samurai) in Florida
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”teammateRow”][vc_column width=”1/4″ el_class=”teammateImage”][vc_single_image image=”71393″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=”” image_hovers=”false”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″ el_class=”teammateDescription”][vc_row_inner el_class=”TeammateContent”][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text css=””] \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister for the 2025 Event and grand depart here \n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe 2025 Edition of the Cross Florida Kings Road will begin on October 25th at 6:51 am\, Civil Twilight. This year we have two routes available\, a 210 +- route and the new Kings Road XL route\, 333 miles. The ride will roll out from the Jena Boat Ramp and End on the Atlantic coast\, down by the beach\, to the right of the Flagler Beach Pier. \nThe group start will be draft-legal and will challenge riders to complete the course as quickly as possible\, although riders are free to complete the challenge without the constraints of cut-offs or time limits. \nThis is a self-supported ride; there are no sag wagons\, and no support vehicles are allowed\, except being able to draft riders must maintain this self-supported status throughout the event. \nYour registration of 80$ includes the route information\, a trail guide\, a resource waypoint file\, one souvenir\, and access to both routes. Routes will be released August 15th\, and once the information is sent\, no refunds or transfers will be available. Tracking will be provided by Trackleaders\, and it is at that time that riders will choose which route they want to ride. There are only two categories available\, solo and team. It is at the time of Trackleaders registration that you would choose the team option if that’s how you decided to tackle the route. \nThere will be a shuttle available; spots are limited to the first 30 folks who register for this option. The shuttle will pick up riders in Flagler Beach at noon on October 24th and transport riders to Steinhatchee. The designated parking spot for shuttle riders is approximately 1 mile from the finish line. The price of the shuttle is 130$\, add that ticket option to your cart to secure your spot. Shuttle spots are refundable as long as it’s canceled 3 weeks before the event start date. \nSince there is no cut-off time\, riders can choose to ride the route as fast as they want or tour it at their leisure. The goal is to get from one coast to the other\, following the route to 99% adherence. \nPlease share with your friends and join this unique Coast to Coast ride! \nTake Care\, \nKarlos \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
