SUMMARY:Bikepacking: Wisconsin Waterfalls Loop with Winnebago Bicycles in Wisconsin
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”teammateRow”][vc_column width=”1/4″ el_class=”teammateImage”][vc_single_image image=”70006″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=”” image_hovers=”false”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″ el_class=”teammateDescription”][vc_row_inner el_class=”TeammateContent”][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text css=””] \n\n\nThe time has come. The big adventure we at Bago Bikes have been wanting to do for a long time… The Wisconsin Waterfalls Loop. You read that right. Given the scope of this trip\, it will follow a different format from our usual bikepacking rides:\n\nFirstly\, we will follow a “soft” distance and timetable. The full route is nearly 400 mi\, so we will be looking at cutting it to around 150 mi- 175 mi over the course of 4-ish days (3-ish nights). Final decisions will be made closer to the trip date.\n\nSecondly\, you MUST email the shop at info@winnebagobicycle.com to receive instructions on the sign-up procedure. This is the only way to get a spot with us on the trip; simply RSVP’ing to this event will not count.\n\nThird\, more info on the route can be found at these links:\n\nhttps://bikepacking.com/routes/wisconsin-waterfalls-loop/\nhttps://lifeaboveeight.com/2015/06/14/chasing-waterfalls-and-stormy-kromer/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAAR0f2RT32J8Fkk6UhUV0dA_YpwSef-9wyHjOdFY3NkGAHk70y2rykYzF2iE_aem_DKvCkbs8gzYUf0JQdggNhw\n\n\nFor the trip\, you’ll need:\n– Your bike– Tires fit to help you ride confidently in widely-varied terrain (think 2.3″ or wider)– Shelter/sleeping gear– Food (although there will be places to eat along the way\, be prepared to sustain yourself\, and bringing a stove is recommended)– A large water filter will be provided for the whole group\, but having one for yourself can make things easier– A change of clothes for late September weather– $20 admission (details will be sent via email to those who sign up)– A positive attitude\n\n\n\nIf you wanna join this or any Winnebago Bicycle’s events\, please fill out one of these forms: https://www.winnebagobicycle.com/about/group-ride-events-waiver-pg231.htm?fbclid=IwY2xjawJbzMBleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHWaXPoK7075fBLI5SZZAQPhIa8EcJChvxWFiZ1tX70-hkDGApZx3Mn0Z9w_aem_wY0xAJsB9f-0YhRyN5Yc7g \nAs always\, reach out to the folks at Winnebago Bicycle if you would like to inquire about their gear library\, including shelters\, cookware\, bike bags\, and more![/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:October Bike Campout with the Wild Wolf Cycling Collective in California - LOTTERY CLOSED
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”teammateRow”][vc_column width=”1/4″ el_class=”teammateImage”][vc_single_image image=”71775″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=”” image_hovers=”false”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″ el_class=”teammateDescription”][vc_column_text css=””]⛰️ 🚲 San Gabriel Mountains Campout ⛰️ 🚲 October 18 & 19 \nThere are two Route options for this trip: the full version is 36 miles round trip with a sustained road climb\, and the short version is only 12 miles round trip (perfect for beginners or those short on time)\, all on a bike path and mostly flat. Both routes are 100% paved. \nA road bike\, touring\, or gravel bike is ideal for this route. \n🚲Previous bikepacking experience is NOT needed; first-time bikepackers are encouraged! \n🙂This is a guided trip with ride leads and sweeps\, but there is no sag or outside vehicle support on this ride. All campers are responsible for themselves and their decisions. Riders are responsible for ensuring their bikes are tuned up and ready to ride. \n🌼To create a more accessible registration process\, we introduced a lottery system this year to give more folks a chance to register and help ensure that spots are distributed more equitably. In line with our mission\, we will be prioritizing 50% of our campout lottery spots for BIPOC\, transgender\, and gender expansive riders. Furthermore\, first-time bikepackers will receive additional weight in the lottery selection for this trip. \n🎟️To enter the lottery\, please fill out the form linked in our bio. Registration for this trip is open now and will close 9-26. \n⛺️ Our gear library is available to all riders with a full selection of camping gear and bike bags. \n💸We are asking for a sliding scale donation of $15- $30 for this trip. \n💕WWCC is an intentional space to celebrate\, connect\, and center ALL gender-expansive and women riders while creating and expanding pedal-powered access to the outdoors. \n🦄*This event is for and by gender-expansive and women riders who identify as trans\, women\, non-binary\, gender\, and all that identify outside of the gender binary. This space is closed to cis-men. \nMore info available on the lottery registration form.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

A regional ride through the woods and prairies that lie beyond Chicago. But before the group gets there… house pumpkins\, gourds\, and cider fill the north shore communities\, as the group travels north and feasts eyes upon architectural masterpieces. \nLearn about the towns\, the lay of the land\, and the unique ecosystems along the way\, as organizers drop knowledge on top of your noggins at each breakpoint. \nThe group will ride to and camp on the youngest land in the state at Illinois Beach State Park\, discover the Dead River\, go on a guided nature walk\, and learn what the Chicago area looked like before European settlement. And what better way to end our first day of riding than to relax around a campfire\, on a cool night with warm apple cider on the shores of Lake Michigan. \nDay two\, you can choose to do the 55 mile return along the Desplaines River Trail\, or just hop on the Metra train just outside of the campground. Gather some friends\, check out the itinerary\, and let’s have a good time. \nRead the 2023 blog post here.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:Beginner Overnighter to Catalina State Park with Campfire Cycling in Arizona
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”teammateRow”][vc_column width=”1/4″ el_class=”teammateImage”][vc_single_image image=”71550″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=”” image_hovers=”false”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″ el_class=”teammateDescription”][vc_row_inner el_class=”TeammateContent”][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text] \n***If you would like to join this ride but it is cost-prohibitive to do so or if you need to borrow gear to make it happen\, please contact the folks at Campfire Cycling. \nThe group will be leaving Campfire Cycling at 11 AM for a 23-mile ride up the loop (Paved bike path) with bathrooms as well as water fountains and options for supplies to Catalina State Park. We’ll be staying at a group campground with room for 20 tents. \nOn our Community Events/Rides\, we follow our Campfire Code of Conduct. We strive to create a positive and supportive environment where everyone feels welcome and heard. We don’t assume anyone’s abilities based on outward appearance. We take responsibility for our actions and words. We respect the land\, its original stewards\, and leave no trace. \nIf this is your first bikepacking trip\, we are here to help. If you like advise on gear need or want any other advice. We strongly recommend you stop by with your bike or pack up your bike for the trip and bring it by the shop so we can check out your setup and make recommendations as needed. Feel free to set up an appointment or just stop on by. \nWhile this is a beginner oriented bikepacking trip\, everyone is welcome. I’m sure all of the newbies will appreciate having experienced campers along for the ride.  It’s a great opportunity to do a shake down run with new gear or a new to you setup as well as sharing experience\, knowledge and setups. \nThis will be a no drop ride. We ride at a party pace with many stops and chances for regrouping as well as resupply. There is bathrooms and water along the route. Campfire Cycling will also always have a mechanic at the back of the ride so no one is left behind in case trouble arises. There is also food available near the camp.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:Donner Bike Camping with California Travis and Kelsey in Truckee\, California
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”teammateRow”][vc_column width=”1/4″ el_class=”teammateImage”][vc_single_image image=”71825″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=”” image_hovers=”false”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″ el_class=”teammateDescription”][vc_row_inner el_class=”TeammateContent”][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text css=””] \n\n\n\n\n\nThe Details: Park at the Safeway in Truckee\, CA\, roll out at 10 am sharp\, then promptly open a magic portal to a beautiful\, dirty\, stinky world where time and capitalism no longer exist. \nThis will be our last bike camping trip of the year\, and holy smokes\, it’s a good one\, with some mellow singletrack\, a beautiful little lake\, an amazing campsite\, and the longest abandoned railroad tunnels I’ve ever ridden through! This ride starts with a kicker of a climb\, but only totals 38 miles and +3235 feet of climbing over Saturday and Sunday. \nThis will be self-supported dispersed camping near Cascade Lakes (6700ft elevation)\, following LNT principles\, so bring: food\, a warm sleep system\, a water filter\, a bike light for the tunnels\, and a way to bury your own poop (trowel). As always\, this is a casual open-invite trip. No sag\, and no registration or money required\, but we’ll do our best to make sure nobody is left behind or stranded. We all wear helmets and ask that you do as well. \nThese rides are at a conversational pace\, and we stick together. If you want to KOM your Strava or impress people by being first up the climb\, don’t bother coming\, as the best of the party is at the back of the pack.\nThe route link is in my bio. Be sure to download it in one form or another before the trip\, as cell service can be nonexistent in this area. Jump into any of our DM’s for questions or advice\, and we hope to see you there! \n\n\n\n\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
