Leaving (and returning to) Montreal. The group will be heading northeast along the St. Lawrence River to Quebec City. Then everyone will cross the river to head south into the lush farmland of Quebec before returning to Montreal. \n\n718 Outdoors in Brooklyn: 2025 Tour and Micro-Tour Season \nRegistration Opens January 3rd\, 2025 \nFor those considering a trip with 718 Outdoors in 2025\, be sure to visit the Testimonials Page. \nItems listed as “Sold Out” are not yet open for registration. \nEach Tour accommodates 16 riders\, along with the organizer and 1 support rider\, totaling 18 participants. For Micro-Tours\, the group includes 23 riders\, the organizer\, and 3 volunteer sweeps\, for a total of 24 participants. Riders are only allowed to utilize assistance available to the general public under normal business and agency operating conditions. The clock starts as soon as the rider starts and doesn’t end until the rider finishes. Live tracking is required\, as well as publicly available tracking logs. Approved assistance exceptions are typically allowed during Group Depart week from approved “Trail Angels”. \nMini RAT is for anyone who wants to follow the RAT route with no expectation of completing the full route. Ride as many (or as few) as fits into your schedule. We have a single weekend route for people who want to pedal back to DFW: Mini RAT Day 1\, 140 Miles\, Texarkana to Paris\nMini RAT Day 2\, 110 miles Paris to Rowlett Train Station. \nThe Tiny RAT is a 150-mile lollipop from Farmersville to Paris and back\, which primarily utilizes the NETT. Saturday night overnight in Paris is included\, which offers the opportunity to socialize with the RAT riders as they come into Paris. Please note\, this is not an “easy” ride. 75 miles each day is likely to feel more like 100 on these sections of the NETT. Self-navigation capability is EXTREMELY important. We will provide the route\, but it will not be verified beforehand. TWIG bikepacking trips serve as beginner-friendly\, approachable adventures for trans\, women\, intersex\, gender non-conforming & non-binary folks of all experience levels and backgrounds to get out on our bikes together in a supportive\, fun environment. \nThe Details:\n\nDate: Saturday\, October 11 to Sunday\, October 12\nStart/End: The ride will start/end @durhambikecoop. Meet at 12pm on Sat and return ~2pm on Sun\nRoute: 27 miles each way to/from Jordan Lake (~60 miles total over 2 days). ~3/4 of the ride is on the American Tobacco Trail (a flat\, protected greenway) and ~1/4 is on paved country roads\nRide: Relaxed pace & take lots of breaks! We will have a cabin as backup if the weather is exceedingly chilly or wet. \nPace: 7-10mph. We won’t leave anyone behind. \nTrail/Route: Paved road or trail with minimal crushed limestone trail portions. \nAge: All families are welcome. \nTrip Description \nExplore the beauty of our extensive forest preserves in the Southwest Burbs. We will ride through the southside neighborhoods of Beverly and Mt. Greenwood and eventually arrive to the Cal Sag Trail. From there\, we will wind through the trails of the forest preserves. Along the route\, we will take plenty of breaks and will even have a picnic before arriving to Camp Sullivan. \nAs all of our rides celebrate this beautiful corner of the earth we call home\, we acknowledge the many people who have lived here before us and seek to promote Indigenous perspectives into all we do. This ride is a celebration of this idea in practice.
