SUMMARY:End of Summer Campout with Gravelo in North Carolina - REGISTRATION CLOSED
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”teammateRow”][vc_column width=”1/4″ el_class=”teammateImage”][vc_single_image image=”70868″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=”” image_hovers=”false”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″ el_class=”teammateDescription”][vc_column_text] \nJoin Gravelo for their Summer Camp. \nThey have a big weekend planned. \nLots of bike rides\, swimming\, games\, food\, and good times will be had. \nGravelo has reserved the entire campground at Mortimer this year\, so there will be plenty of space.  If you aren’t familiar with the area\, it’s incredibly beautiful\, has nearly never-ending gravel roads\, some of the best mountain biking in the area\, and amazing swimming holes.  The folks at Gravelo are working on securing a shuttle service so that everyone can get in as much riding as possible. \nThe folks at Gravelo will handle all the food and drinks\, so you just have to come ready to ride and hang out.  There are a few options for how to get here. \nYou can drive down and park here at the campground right next to your tent spot.  Slightly more adventurous folks may park at Fonta Flora Whippoorwill Farms and ride in with Lyle. \nThe very brave and strong can leave from Gravelo for the 150k Rando ride. \nRegister for whichever option you would like; you can easily switch later if you need to.  Looking forward to seeing you all at Summer Camp.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:Bikepacking Adventure in Southern New Hampshire
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”teammateRow”][vc_column width=”1/4″ el_class=”teammateImage”][vc_single_image image=”71607″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=”” image_hovers=”false”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″ el_class=”teammateDescription”][vc_row_inner el_class=”TeammateContent”][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text css=””] \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCome join us for an extended weekend of bikepacking and mixed-terrain riding in Southern New Hampshire! \nWe’ll kick off early on Friday\, September 19th at 9:00 AM\, departing from Brookline\, NH. From there\, we’ll ride 35–40 miles northwest toward Greenfield State Park\, exploring dirt and gravel roads\, doubletrack trails\, and paths less traveled. We’ve reserved a group campsite with a lean-to that will serve as our basecamp for the weekend. \nOn Saturday\, we’ll head out for a 40–45-mile mixed-terrain ride in the surrounding area. The first ~30 miles feature substantial climbing (around 100 ft/mile) before easing out along a rail-trail grade. Afterward\, enjoy a refreshing dip in the lake\, a hearty dinner\, and campfire relaxation back at Greenfield State Park. \nOn Sunday\, we’ll pack up and continue our adventure with another 35–40 miles back to Brookline\, NH. \nOverall\, riders should expect hilly terrain averaging 70–80 ft of elevation gain per mile\, with some segments steeper than others. As with all bikepacking adventures\, also anticipate both pleasant surprises and challenges: varied road surfaces (mud\, chunky gravel\, sandy stretches)\, and the possibility of some hike-a-bike sections. Riders should be prepared for a fully loaded ride carrying all personal gear\, food\, and camping supplies. \nBest suited for: experienced bikepackers or strong riders comfortable with back-to-back days of mixed-terrain riding. \nBike setup: Really skilled riders should be fine with anything wider than 45 mm\, but we recommend tires at least 50 mm or wider for comfort and control on rougher surfaces. \nIf you’re up for both the challenges and rewards of bikepacking\, come join us for this Southern NH adventure! \nCost: Campground fees will be equally shared (estimated $35 Per Person for the weekend). \n\n\n\n\n\n\nDifficulty Rating:  5 – Vigorous\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDifficulty Rating Definition: Suitable for those with recent similar experience and/or demonstrated proficiency\, such as being active in sports or often (regular) engagement in vigorous physical activity. Ability to perform at the expected level for back-to-back days for multiday trips. Expect to be active up to 5-6 hours per day\, with brief breaks.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOffered By\nAMC Worcester Chapter\n\n\n\n\n\nTrip Leaders\nDavid Loutzenheiser\, Karen Mackin\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:Fall Equinox Campout with Adams Avenue Bicycles in San Diego\, California
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”teammateRow”][vc_column width=”1/4″ el_class=”teammateImage”][vc_single_image image=”71586″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=”” image_hovers=”false”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″ el_class=”teammateDescription”][vc_row_inner el_class=”TeammateContent”][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text css=””]The Fall Equinox campout is part of our quarterly campout series that will coincide with the seasons\, particularly the solstices and equinoxes. Each campout will be in a different location and somewhere along or close to the Stagecoach 400 route. \nIf you’re new to bikepacking or very experienced\, we have options for almost everyone. \nThis year’s Fall Equinox Campout will starting from the shop and ride to the Sweetwater Summit Campground. \nWe will leave from the shop after closing that Saturday at 3 pm and should get to camp around 5 / 5:30pm with enough light to set up camp. \nSee the complete 2-day route: Click Here \nWhen we get to camp\, you can unload your bike and set up tents\, etc. Once everyone is settled\, there will be optional loops for those needing some more miles. Be sure to bring lights too. \nThe Sweetwater bike park is also right next to the campground\, so it could be fun to go ride some laps there or just relax in camp. Something for everyone! \nThe next morning will be a casual roll-out on an alternative route back to the shop. This route will be slightly longer and end with a possible ferry ride across the bay from Coronado to Downtown. \nSince this campout is in town\, there are lots of ways to get back to the shop. In past years\, we even had people join only for the evening and then ride back home that night. It’s about 20 very mellow\, mostly paved miles. \nThe ride is completely self-supported\, so come prepared. Have a backup plan/support car/exit strategy/etc… if you’re questioning if you can make it or not. Make sure you know your limits and abilities. We want everyone to have fun! \nFood and drink: There is water\, electricity\, restrooms\, and coin showers at the campground. We will bring some snacks and drinks to share\, but you are responsible for bringing your dinner and breakfast.  There will be some places to stop for food/drinks on the way down. The closest stores/restaurants are across the street from the golf course. \nShuttling gear: We will have one vehicle driving\, so if you want us to shuttle any gear or food\, you’re welcome to drop it by the shop BEFORE that Saturday. \n***NOTE: There will not be a support vehicle driving down that afternoon\, so all shuttle gear must be dropped off before closing that Friday*** \nAny questions\, please don’t hesitate to ask! \n***Spots are limited\, so please RSVP so we can have a proper headcount. Worst case\, we might need to grab another campsite***[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
