SUMMARY:Bodfish Bike Camping with California Travis in the Lassen National Forest in California

This route goes over Humboldt and Humbug summits\, stops at an ice cold spring on the PCT\, a naturally carbonated spring off Cottonwood Meadow\, and we camp in the woods along Butt Creek. It’s one of our most remote routes\, with no amenities\, no stores\, no collaborators\, and no cell service. Just us\, forests\, dirt\, and creeks. \nJuly 19th\, we roll out of the Jonesville Snowmobile Parking Lot at 10 am sharp. This route is 95% gravel\, 55 miles total\, with 5100 feet of climbing\, spread over two days. \nThis will be self-supported dispersed camping following LNT principles\, so bring: food\, sleep system\, a water filter\, and a way to bury your own poop (trowel). As always\, this is a casual\, open-invite trip. There is no sag\, and no registration or money required\, but we’ll try to make sure nobody is left behind or stranded. We all wear helmets and ask that you do as well. \nThese rides are at a conversational pace\, and we stick together. If you want to KOM your Strava or impress people by being first up the climb\, don’t bother coming\, as the best of the party is at the back of the pack.\nThe route link is in my bio. Be sure to download it in one form or another before the trip\, as cell service can be nonexistent in this area\, and if something unforeseen happens\, we want you to be able to navigate back to your vehicle safely. At this meeting\, the organizers will do a trip overview\, figure out volunteer roles\, sort out any final gear shares\, and answer questions. It will be a great opportunity to chat with each other before the big trip too! The Grease Rag community has a lot of communal knowledge\, and are here to ensure the trip is a success for everyone. \nThe group will meet on the big hill that is next to Venture Bikes\, which is part of the 10th/11th Ave exit.
