Each campout will be in a different location and somewhere along or close to the Stagecoach 400 route. \nThis year\, the group is once again staying in Mount Laguna at the Wooded Hill Group Camp. Organizers have the group site reserved for Sunday thru Tuesday \nCampground amenities include:\nBathrooms\nPotable Water\nFor coin showers\, you will have to go a couple of miles down Sunrise HWY to Burnt Rancheria Campground \nThe Mount Laguna Store is just a few miles from the campground with firewood and snacks (closes at 5 pm)\, and please do not park your bikes on the porch (the owner hates that). \nGetting to camp and ride options….. \nDriving:\nThis is a great option if you just want to hang out for camping\, join in on the day rides\, or simply relax in the beauty of the mountains. Check in for Wooded Hill is 2 pm\, and that’s when we are getting there. Since we have the group camp this year\, parking is not a problem. We are planning to then ride out to the meadow to try and meet one of or both groups riding in. There are beautiful views of the Coastal Mountains and the Harbour City. On the island of Saysutshun there are opportunities for hiking and biking on many trails\, and beaches to explore and take a refreshing swim from. This trip is a first for us and we are stoked to check out a new spot and all that it offers. \nFor the ride itself\, you are welcome to join us for a casual pace\, guided effort. SUMMARY:2025 Swift Campout with Quin & Max in Ft. Collins\, Colorado

As long as you’re a relatively strong rider you should have no issues getting to camp. This route is an out and back\, so in the morning you will have plenty of descending to look forward to. Our plan is to leave early and have tons of stops for snacks\, drinks\, swimming\, and other things of that nature. We will not be holding a crazy pace\, but note a lot of the climbing comes at the end of the day\, so just be prepared for that.  \nThis is a fully self supported route\, we will be stashing some beers at camp the day before\, but there is no major food stops after Masonville. Carry what you need. If you have a water filter there will be multiple opportunities to fill up\, if not\, bring lots of bottles.  \nThere is a fill station right across from the campsite\, but not so much along the route.  \nRoute \nDistance 75 miles round trip \nTerrain Mixed Gravel & Pavement \nDifficulty Level Moderate – For active individuals who are ready to ride for a full day. We will take the ferry to Vashon\, where we will slowly climb the steep roads up from the ferry dock. We will stick to lower-traffic roads\, but expect some punchy climbs. We will ensure we all stay together and walk steep hills as needed. Our destination is the AYH Ranch\, where we will meet up with other groups for Swift Campout. Our group is intended for folks new to bike camping and looking for a no-drop\, slower-speed group. \nView the route HERE. I grew up riding bikes\, and I’m still doing it. I now manage Road 34 bike shop here in Fort Collins\, CO\, while also making online content about bikes to last a lifetime. My main goal is to get people stoked on riding bikes\, no matter the skill level\, how you identify\, or how much money you have to throw at it. Bikes are rad\, especially with friends. I grew up in Santa Fe\, New Mexico\, and moved to Fort Collins to get my Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts. Since moving to Fort Collins\, I have had the opportunity to become more involved in the cycling community through local group rides\, and it has sparked my love for cycling! My goals are to continue to explore the community I have found through the world of biking- and to have fun doing it! \nQuin and Max on Swift Campout \nWe think that the Swift Campout is all about having fun with friends. Whether you’re crushing 100-mile days or just riding across town to your local spot\, it’s always better to share the ride with someone. Swift Campout is the perfect opportunity to expand your horizons on your bike and experience new adventures with like-minded friends and strangers. \nAbout the route: \nIt’s 36 miles\, with some decent elevation gain\, and a good bit of gravel at the end. As long as you’re a relatively strong rider\, you should have no issues getting to camp. This route is an out-and-back\, so in the morning\, you will have plenty of descending to look forward to. Our plan is to leave early and have tons of stops for snacks\, drinks\, swimming\, and other things of that nature. We will not be holding a crazy pace\, but note that a lot of the climbing comes at the end of the day\, so just be prepared for that. This is a fully self-supported route; we will be stashing some beers at camp the day before\, but there are no major food stops after Masonville. Carry what you need. If you have a water filter\, there will be multiple opportunities to fill up; if not\, bring lots of bottles. There is a fill station right across from the campsite\, but not so much along the route. We’ll spend the night camping near Mount Alto Picnic Area\, then wake up bright and early to grab a bite to eat in Gold Hill. After that\, we’ll bike down Sunshine Canyon to get back to town and end right where we started. The route is a mix of bike path\, paved roads\, jeep roads\, and gravel. The first day will be a steady climb up to camp and the second day will be a long descent back into town. \nThere will be multiple pace groups and re-group points. This is a no-drop ride. \nNOTE: This is not a beginner bikepacking trip due to the large amount of climbing and technical terrain! For the eleventh year in a row\, adventurers will pack camp gear on their bicycles and head out on June 21st and 22nd\, 2025 to kick off summer with a bike overnight.  \nSwift Campout is an ode to spending the longest day in the saddle\, to the shortest night under the stars\, and to the stellar community that rallies to share this stoke. Join us! \nWe’re pleased to introduce you to Grizzly Cycles  \nOur Swift Campout this year promises an exciting adventure through the stunning mountains north of Bass Lake\, CA\, covering approximately 90 miles with around 8\,000 feet of elevation gain. This marks our fourth year undertaking this challenging route\, and it continues to be a rewarding experience for all participants. We’ll be dispersed camping along the way\, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the natural beauty of the area. The route offers a balanced mix of roughly 50% dirt and 50% pavement\, providing a diverse riding experience that tests both endurance and versatility. They have rad merch\, so show up early if you wanna support the shop that designed this sweet route for us. \nThis is self-supported overnight bikecamping on gravel and dirt roads in the Tahoe National Forest area. \n35 miles total\, with 4900 feet of climbing\, spread over two days. \nTires at least 40c or bigger are recommended for this terrain\, and bring your climbing gears for this one. \nThis will be dispersed camping following LNT principles\, so bring: food\, sleep system\, a water filter\, and a way to bury your own poop (trowel). \nAs always\, this is a casual\, open-invite trip. \nNo sag\, and no registration or money is required\, but we’ll try to make sure nobody is left behind or stranded. \nPlease download the route just in case\, though. We all wear helmets and ask that you do as well. \nThese rides are at a conversational pace\, and we stick together. If you want to KOM your Strava or impress people by being first up the climb\, don’t bother coming\, as the best of the party is at the back of the pack.\nJay has made us a killer route for us this year\, with a couple of lovely swim stops on the Yuba. Essential Workers have served as the backbone to our City’s operations prior to the 2020 shutdown\, and Out Our Front Door recognizes the innumerable additional challenges placed on workers since the start of the pandemic. We see many of the incentives to remain employed in an essential industry are slowly expiring and many accommodations that we’d hoped would be long term are no more. \nThis ride is offered as a way to say ‘thank you’ to our Essential Workers community. Camping spots\, navigation and cooking will be covered by OOFD. All you have to do is show up. \n_____________ \nMileage: Day 1: 28 Miles | Day 2: 28 miles \nSupport: Self supported – you carry all of your own camping gear on your own bike. No vehicle support. \nLodging: Tent (camping gear not provided). We will stay at Camp Shabbona Woods (Cook County Forest Preserve) located 15810 S. Torrence Ave\, South Holland IL\, 60473 (map) \nPace: 12-15mph \nTrail/Route: Paved road with minimal gravel incorporated and possible snow. \nAge: Adult Ride (21+) \nTrip Description\nTravel south over bridges\, canals\, and railroads to a hidden gem among the industrial past of Chicago: Camp Shabbona Woods. This is the closest Cook County camping site from Chicago and is an accessible low-stress ride\, suitable for beginners and experienced riders. The route is almost entirely on bike paths and/or bike lanes that include the Lakefront Path\, the new South Lake Shore Drive extension bike lanes\, Calumet Park\, Hammond\, IN\, and the Burnham Greenway. \nThe facilities at Shabbona Woods are excellent and amenities include the Sand Ridge Nature Center with animals\, exhibits\, and walking trails\, as well as the Green Lake Aquatic Center across the street featuring a lazy river and a water slide. \nCampsite features a fire pit\, picnic tables\, full-service bathrooms with showers\, dining pavilions with electrical outlets for device charging\, and camp store with concessions. \nTo learn more about the region we’ll be traveling through\, check out the Wetlands Initiative page on the Calumet Region.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
