This will be a great opportunity to get more experience bikepacking without the hassle of planning a route\, finding a crew\, or leaving your backyard. \nThe group will be heading from McKinney\, TX to Eisenhower SP/Lake Texoma in Cartwright\, OK (65 mi) and back (65 mi). The first campout of the year is the weekend of April 19 & 20 🏕 🚲 \n🌼Last year\, campouts filled up quickly and had long waitlists. To create a more accessible registration process\, we’re introducing a lottery system. This will give more folks a chance to attend and help ensure that spots are distributed more equitably. \n🎟️To enter into the lottery for the April trip fill out the reg form linked in our bio. Registration for this trip will be open from 3-15 to 3-19. \n🗺️ This month’s route is a multimodal favorite utilizing metrolink\, neighborhood trails\, state park gravel roads\, rails to trails\, and bike paths. The full route is 55 miles with +2700 ft gain and is 47% unpaved. A gravel\, atb\, rigid mtb\, or touring bike with dirt tires 40mm or larger is ideal. \n🐺 We give this route our Wolf rating as it is between 25 and 55 miles each day and day elevation. It is mostly rolling terrain\, with a few sustained climbs and some short punchy grades that may require hike-a-bike. Day 2 is mostly flat with a large amount of paved bike path. \n🦎The terrain\, both days gets the Lizard (dirt & gravel ) rating. Unpaved surfaces range from hard pact to gravel/sand with some rutted and steep up/down sections. Day 1 is a mix of fire roads and double track and tiny bit of blue rated single track\, the paved surfaces both days are primarily bike paths or bike lanes. \n🌻All riders are responsible for themselves and their decisions. This is a guided bike camping trip\, but there is no sag or outside support on this ride for gear. \n💸We are asking for a sliding scale donation of $15- $30 for this trip. Your donation covers the camping fees and helps support our campout program & gear library. . \n💕WWCC is an intentional space to celebrate\, connect\, and center ALL gender-expansive and women riders while creating and expanding pedal powered access to the outdoors. \n🦄*This event is for and by gender-expansive and women riders who identify as trans\, women\, non-binary\, gender and all that identify outside of the gender binary. The group will roll out from REI Denver\, following the South Platte River Trail to Waterton Canyon\, stopping for lunch along the way. From there\, the group will climb up the canyon and onto the Colorado Trail\, where we’ll find a dispersed campsite for the night. \n🚆 Taking the train? No problem! Meet us at Chatfield State Park if you’re riding from Littleton. \nExpect a mix of mellow paths\, gravel\, and singletrack—plus good campfire vibes and a solid start to the season. This thrilling 265-mile challenge takes riders on an epic journey around the entire Bay Area. It features a mix of technical singletrack\, gravel road\, and connecting tarmac with over 27\,000 feet of elevation gain. You will experience breathtaking views of both city and coastline paired with world-class riding that will push you to your limits. The landscape will be bursting with spring color as the Grand Depart takes place on Easter weekend. Keep your eyes peeled for prizes hidden on course on Easter Sunday. \nThis is entirely a self-supported event. All the organizers provide is a route\, a suggested start time\, and a tracking option through Track Leaders. Riders are entirely responsible for their own needs. Please ride safely and respectfully.
