DESCRIPTION:This October\, Backyard Bikepacking DFW is hosting a two-night bikepacking trip along the NETT and the surrounding areas. This will be a great opportunity to get more experience bikepacking without the hassle of planning a route\, finding a crew\, or leaving your backyard. \n🚵🏼‍♂️ This trip is only recommended for those with prior bikepacking experience 🚵🏼‍♂️ \nThe group will be heading from Farmersville\, TX to Cooper Lake State Park (60 mi)\, to Bonham SP (50 mi)\, and back (30 mi). SUMMARY:Donner Bikecamping with Truckee Bikepacking Collective in Truckee\, California
DESCRIPTION:The Details: Park at the Safeway in Truckee CA\, roll out at 10am sharp\, then promptly open a magic portal to a beautiful dirty stinky world where time and capitalism no longer exist. \nThis will be the last bike camping trip of the year\, and holy smokes it’s a good one\, with some mellow singletrack\, a beautiful little lake\, an amazing camp site\, and the longest abandoned railroad tunnels the organizers have ever ridden through! This ride starts with a kicker of a climb\, but only totals 38 miles and +3235 feet of climbing over Saturday and Sunday. \nThis will be self-supported dispersed camping near Cascade Lakes (6700ft elevation)\, following LNT principles\, so bring: food\, a warm sleep system\, a water filter\, a bike light for the tunnels\, and a way to bury your own poop (trowel). As always\, this is a casual open-invite trip. No sag\, and no registration or money required\, but organizers will do their best to make sure nobody is left behind or stranded. The organizers all wear helmets and ask that you do as well. \nThese rides are at a conversational pace\, and the group will stick together. If you want to KOM your Strava or impress people by being first up the climb\, don’t bother coming\, as the best of the party is at the back of the pack. \nThe route link is in my bio. Be sure to download it in one form or another before the trip\, as cell service can be nonexistent in this area. Jump into any of our DM’s for questions or advice\, and hope to see you there! \n*Organizers rode this route in mid-October last year\, and it was warm and divine\, but if it starts raining and snowing\, organizers will call it off.

SUMMARY:Bike Camping with All Bodies On Bikes in Albuquerque\, New Mexico
DESCRIPTION:Save the date for some exciting rides and an overnight trip this fall! All Bodies On Bikes\, ABQ is going bikepacking! 🏕️ \nWith support from Fat Tire Cycles and Albuquerque Single Speed\, this series will get you set up for all things bikepacking! \nThere will be three clinics to prepare your bike and gear for a bikepacking excursion\, the first two held at Fat Tire Cycles in Corrales\, and the third will be a shake out ride to test gear. \nClinic 1 (10/6 @ 10am) is a Loaded Bike Q&A: The organizers will bring some examples of various ways to load your gear and open up the room for any questions you might have. \nClinic 2 (1013 @ 10am) is a bag and gear swap and set-up how to: Bring all your gear and see what works\, what you might need to swap or get help setting up and loading up your bags. \nIn Clinic 3 (10/18 @ 6pm) the group will meet up fully loaded for a short shake out ride to see that everything works out on the bike. In addition to the clinics\, join the organizers for a series of build-up rides to prepare for the bikepacking route. This introduction to bikepacking overnighter will require the cyclist to be able to ride 30 miles over mixed terrain\, and the build-up series can help get you there! A regional ride through the woods and prairies that lie beyond Chicago. But before the group gets there… house pumpkins\, gourds\, and cider fill the north shore communities\, as riders will travel north and feast their eyes upon architectural masterpieces. \nLearn about the towns\, the lay of the land\, and the unique ecosystems along the way\, as the organizers drop knowledge on top of your noggins at each breakpoint. \nThe group will ride to and camp on the youngest land in the state at Illinois Beach State Park\, discover the Dead River\, go on a guided nature walk\, and learn what the Chicago area looked like before European settlement. And what better way to end the first day of riding than to relax around a campfire\, on a cool night with warm apple cider on the shores of Lake Michigan. \nDay two\, you can choose to do the 55 mile return along the Desplaines River Trail\, or just hop on the Metra train just outside of the campground. DESCRIPTION:Utilizing literally all the hard work of @yawp_cyclery from the BATM last year\, we’re going camping at Buff Creek on October 19. \nMeet up at the main mountain bike parking lot (Buffalo Creek Recreation Area) for a noon departure. \nThis will be dispersed and unsupported\, please bring all necessary items of survival and comfort (and a trowel). There should be a creek near camp\, Ithe organizers will try to confirm prior to the camp out and report back. \nIf the weather is guaranteed crappy the organizer will likely announce their removal…of themselves but anyone is welcome to still go of course.
