Emily Elliott is the contact person for the event and can be reached at emilyelliott43@gmail.com. \nThe Route and Experience \nThe Ranchita Rambler Grand Depart is not a race but rather a relaxed weekend of bikepacking with friends. Riders will start and camp together but are encouraged to ride at their own pace and navigate the route independently. The journey begins and ends in Ranchita\, CA\, at the Ranchita Bodega. \nDay one kicks off with some early climbs through the Ranchita foothills\, followed by a thrilling sandy descent down Grapevine Canyon into the Anza Borrego Desert. Riders will then tackle a paved section with a narrow shoulder\, leading to the scenic Cactus Valley double track. The route also passes the famous Borrego Springs metal sculptures\, adding a cultural touch to the adventure. \nThe first night’s campsite will be at Borrego Palm Canyon Campground\, where riders can enjoy amenities like flush toilets and coin-operated hot showers while gazing at the breathtaking night sky. Along the way\, there are opportunities to refuel with quintessential California burritos in the town of Borrego Springs. \nOn day two\, riders can either grab breakfast in camp or start their ascent up the iconic Montezuma Valley Road\, also known as the “Glass Elevator” for its panoramic views of the desert floor. The climb\, with its 3\,300-foot elevation gain\, is challenging\, but the vistas are worth the effort. The route then leads through the Culp Valley Cultural Preserve\, offering double track trails and educational sites with views extending to the Salton Sea. For those preferring a less sandy option\, the Culp Valley segment can be bypassed by staying on the pavement. \nThe ride concludes back in Ranchita. Riders should note that\, as of July 2024\, the Ranchita Bodega is not operational\, so it’s wise to stash post-ride snacks in your car. SUMMARY:River to Sea Loop with Karlos Bernart (Singletrack Samurai) in Florida - SOLD OUT
DESCRIPTION:River to Sea Loop is a group bicycle tour that takes riders to scenic springs\, the Ocean\, and Iconic Towns using as much dirt as possible. \nThe start location for this year’s tour has not been finalized but it will be somewhere near Pierson or Seville. On the way around the loop\, riders will visit cool springs\, the Ocean\, and the oldest city in the United States. The route will be a mix of dirt\, pavement\, bike paths\, and singletrack. The route is not finalized but is expected to be in the 160 – 200 mile range. There plenty of Surprises are in store for 2024. \nThis route is Self-supported\, there are no sag wagons. Everyone will restock from stores and commercial establishments as they smake our way around the loop. Riders are expected to carry their gear and supplies. There will be a group camp the night before the start with complimentary beverages and a Saturday night party with food and drinks! \nFull details will be available as soon as the route is finalized. The route will be final on October 8th. This is a group ride with a guide\, we will stay together and regroup as needed. \nThe price is 100$ and there will be a commemorative patch! \nRoute Files\, Guide\, and Waypoint Files will be final and event-ready by October 8th. SUMMARY:Bikepacking Trip to Palmetto State Park with RAR Austin
DESCRIPTION:🎊 Join RAR.Austin for a 2 day\, 1 night bikepacking trip Sat Nov 9 to Sun Nov 10 to Palmetto State Park! This is an intermediate level trip for riders who are trans women and men\, non-binary\, and cis women. The trip is self-supported and covers 125+ miles over two days (more if you intend to ride to the start!) If this is your first trip\, please reach out @rar.austin on Instagram to see if this is a good fit. \n📝 If interested\, fill out the RSVP form at the bio and pay $5 on Venmo\, handle is annagu – this covers all individual costs for the trip\, which is supported by funds from @radical.adventure.riders \n🌀 Space is limited to 16 people. \n🌳 Route: Primarily biking on paved roads and some gravel. One way is 65 miles\, 2\,500 ft elevation from the southeast part of town (RADIO/EAST on Montopolis Dr.) This will be a no drop ride\, but there may be points where riders spread out into separate groups. The group will stop before major turns and highway crossings and regroup. \n🚲 Bike: Touring bike\, gravel\, or cross bike is recommended. This is a self-supported ride with no organized SAG vehicle. Please arrange your own plan B if the trip does not go according to plan. \n💜 Gear: Sleeping system (shelter\, sleeping bag\, pad)\, cooking gear\, clothing for riding\, lounging\, and sleeping. Bike lights\, bike repair items\, bike snacks. SUMMARY:Intermediate Overnighter to Ironwood w/ Campfire Cycling in Arizona - SOLD OUT
DESCRIPTION:***If you would like to join this ride\, but it is cost prohibitive to do so or if you need to borrow gear to make it happen\, please reach out directly to Campfire Cycling. \nCampfire Cycling is headed to Ironwood national forest to do the Ironwood loop. Route is 48 miles with 1600 feet of climbing\, but don’t let those numbers fool you\, there is some sand and chonk that make for some nice longish days of riding. \nThis trip does have some challenges to it. The organizers are calling it intermediate level and not advisable as a first time bikepacking trip due to some of the rocky and sandy sections that add a challenge as well as the need to carry most of your water. \nThe terrain is mostly gravel roads with some rough and sandy sections. The organizers recommend a minimum of 50mm tires but bigger tires will get you though the sand easier and add plush to the chunk \nThe group be riding to about mile 22 to camp the first night just before the gate. Camp will be right next Cocoraque Butte (the O’odham name is Shontok) Petroglyph site (1 mile out and bike hike). Plan on carrying about 4-6 litres of water per day\, there are few cow tanks that can be filtered from as well as a potential cache spot a mile 30. \nRead about what to expect here: https://bikepacking.com/routes/ironwood-overnighter/ \nThe ride will be self-supported and the organizers do not have plans for a sag wagon to join us. There is a good place to cache water at the Ironwood National Monument Trailhead (Mile 30). There will not be water at camp however there is water available about mile 6\, 9\, 10\, 12 and 40 in cow troughs you can filter from. The organizers recommend carrying 4 to 6 liters of water per day if you don’t plan on filtering or want to do a cache for the 2nd day. \nOrganizers will be contacting everyone who signs up for the ride to make sure they are prepared for the ride. \nThe group will be parking cars and meeting at the start of the route at the Titan II Missile interpretive site (The beginning and end of the route). Rolling at 9am.
