SUMMARY:Payette Excellent Adventure Overnight with Dark Sky Bikepacking and Trailhead in McCall\, Idaho
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”teammateRow”][vc_column width=”1/4″ el_class=”teammateImage”][vc_single_image image=”75007″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=”” image_hovers=”false”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″ el_class=”teammateDescription”][vc_row_inner el_class=”TeammateContent”][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text css=””] \n\n\n\n\nThis event is hosted by Bikepacking Roots Regional Steward Don Keller \nRating: “Capstone Course” Difficulty: 7.5/10 \nThis is a spectacular route with incredible views\, long climbs\, fun descents\, and really unique rural bars! Andy and Erin did this route last year in 2½ days and 2 nights. \nTo make this route more enjoyable\, we are suggesting a 9 am departure in McCall on Saturday\, September 26th. We recommend camping or getting accommodations for Friday evening if you are coming from out of town. We will bike for 3 full days and 2 nights. Returning to McCall on Monday afternoon. \nCheck out the route on the Dark Sky Bikepacking website. \nAll of our group rides are non-guided. All people\, all bikes\, all skills are welcome! Having an accurate head count ensures that we can accommodate up to 20 people for group camping. Bike bags are available to borrow through Dark Sky Bikepacking lending library and bikes are available to rent through The Trailhead Bicycles. A week prior to our adventure we will send out an email with a suggested packing list\, weather forecast\, and any updates to our ride plan. We recommend camping or getting accommodations the night before we begin if you are coming from out of town. \n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis event is part of Bikepacking Root’s Community Event Calendar\, where we share bikepacking events across the US and Canada. Bikepacking Roots is not involved in the hosting of this event unless otherwise noted. Please reach out to the organizer for more information.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:End of Summer Campout with Two Bikes and Gravel Bear in Telico Plains\, TX
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”teammateRow”][vc_column width=”1/4″ el_class=”teammateImage”][vc_single_image image=”75251″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=”” image_hovers=”false”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″ el_class=”teammateDescription”][vc_column_text css=””] \n\n\n\n\n\nOverview\n\n\n\n\nExpect rolling country roads\, challenging gravel climbs and long descents that’ll make you hoot and holler like one of the Lost Boys. \n\n\n\n\nTwo Bikes x Gravel Bear End-O-Summer Overnighter\nRide Summary: Summer’s almost over\, but we’re keeping the party going with a mixed-surface overnighter. Our friend Tellico Taylor (aka @gravelbeartn) has pinned down a new route through the Wildcat area\, with a night of camping at scenic Holly Flats. \nUPDATE: We’re shifting the campout away from Citico due to flooding damage and ongoing closure. The new route is a little more challenging than the original plan\, but it’s also more gravel-focused\, with plenty of backroads\, climbs and descents to make the miles worthwhile. \nSelf-Supported Trip: This is a self supported trip meaning all riders are responsible for bringing their own shelter\, food and water. If you’re an experienced rider and want to try your hand at this so-called bikepacking thing\, or if you just like sustained climbs\, B-roads and bugging out\, this’ll be a great ride for you. \nMeet Time: Meet at 9am on Saturday for coffee and whatnots at Trout Mountain Coffee (100 Scott St\, Tellico Plains\, TN) with a hard roll at 10am. \nStart Time/Location: 10am Saturday at Trout Mountain Coffee (100 Scott St\, Tellico Plains\, TN) \nEnd Time/Location: Around 2pm Sunday at Peach Street Grill (108 Peach St\, Tellico Plains\, TN). \nChallenge Level: Black Belt (at a party pace) \nRoute: \n\nTo Holly Flats via Wildcat (Day 1) : https://tinyurl.com/gb-campout26-day1a\nHolly Flats to Tellico (Day2): https://tinyurl.com/gb-campout26-day2a\n\nCampsite: Our planned campsite is Holly Flats. Camping there is first-come\, first-served\, so the final campsite cannot be guaranteed until the day before the ride. \nWe’ll secure the campsite Friday morning and send riders an update Friday afternoon with the final campsite location and any route changes. \nIf Holly Flats is full\, we’ll find an alternative campsite in the surrounding area. N. River Road is currently mapped as a rough backup option\, but the final campsite and route will depend on what is available. \n\nPossible alternative day 1 route if Holly Flats is full: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/57174153?via=olbXfd-8Snpkizo_BOJrnQ — https://tinyurl.com/gb-campout26-day1b\n\nAppropriate Bike: A gravel or touring bike with wide tires (>38s) and the ability to carry camping equipment and supplies. A hardtail MTB or ATB will also be suitable. \nRider Expectations: \n\nLocks recommended\, tool kits encouraged\, helmets required.\nSelf-support (shelter\, food\, water\, etc)\nWaiver sign before the ride.\nRider must be age 18+\n\nImportant Information: \n\nThis is a fully self-supported trip: riders must bring their own camping equipment\, food\, and water.\nNational Forest Rules: Adhere to all national forest regulations\, including Leave No Trace principles.\nBear Safety: The Cherokee National Forest is bear territory. Follow guidelines for safe camping in bear country.\nCell Phone Service: There is little to mostly no cell service out in the Forest.\n\n\n\n\nThis event is part of Bikepacking Root’s Community Event Calendar\, where we share bikepacking events across the US and Canada. Bikepacking Roots is not involved in the hosting of this event unless otherwise noted. Please reach out to the organizer for more information.  \n\n\n\n\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
