Dana (he/him, Flagstaff, AZ) is a mathematics professor at Northern Arizona University. His obsession with cycling began after he was forced to take time off from trail running and rock climbing due to a series of injuries. Several years of dabbling with endurance mountain bike racing and a desire to spend more time in wild places eventually led him to bikepacking. Dana loves exploring new terrain on his bicycle, especially when he gets to share the experience with others.  As a Bikepacking Roots Regional Advisor, Dana assists with route development and upkeep, as well as lend a hand with public land advocacy issues.
