The Drifty is an 8-day, unscripted bikepacking adventure that takes place in the beautiful Driftless Region of Southern Wisconsin.
Live music at the start and finish, camaraderie, camping, bikepacking… it’s the greatest adventure of your life.
THE ROUTE
The Driftless area of Wisconsin is legendary. Legend has it the Laurentide ice sheet was crushing on it so hard it decided to spare it from its destruction.
In addition to its steep and rugged landscape, it has the largest concentration of cold water streams in the world as well as an endless supply of rolling wooded hills. Oh, and perhaps you’ve heard of the Wisconsin River, the longest free-flowing stretch of river in the Midwest. It’s chock-full of islands and sandbars.
You’ll begin and end just a few miles from the Dane County Regional airport (MSN). After you bike to the river on Day 1 Lost will take your bike and throw a canoe at you. Once you reach the end of the river, they will swap you back. Lost will take care of all the boring logistic stuff.
Below is everything Lost Travel will provide for you. You’ll notice that Lost Travel doesn’t provide you with food outside the start and finish party. They also do not provide a bike. BYOB or let Lost Travel know if you’d like help with a rental bike.

Alert: While the Drifty is a bring-your-own-bike event, Lost Travel has a partnership with a great bike shop for rentals (both standard bike or eBike). You can reserve a rental here. Lost will manage the pickup and drop off of your rental bike.
