Lava Beds Campout with Wildwood Open Lands Foundation in Lava Beds, Black Rock Desert, NV

This is a special collaboration with Wildwood Open Lands Foundation, an organization dedicated to public land conservation for recreation and education.
The 2024 HOWL will be a get-together of a wide range of user groups to discuss the common goal of public lands stewardship. The ride into camp is a moderate 30-mile route along the California Emigrant Trail for the first 1/2 then we will climb into the Lava Beds and arrive at our rock grotto camp.
There are springs in camp, and a few miles from camp for water, but it will require filtering or treatment.
On Saturday there will be a clean-up sponsored by Wildwoods.
The group will then ride out to Elephant Head Rock, 14 mile round trip, and Wildwood is sponsoring a BBQ dinner for all.
Sunday will be a quick ride out, 20 miles, mostly downhill.
