New Mexico Bikepacking Summit plus Dangerbird and Safetybird rides

FreeJoin Bikepacking Roots for our 2nd year at the New Mexico Bikepacking Summit. We will be participating in the Summit and helping to lead the beginner-friendly 1-night alternative to the Dangerbird, the Safetybird!

Ride options:
Dangerbird: October 21st at 9am @ Plaza de las Cruces. The full route is 250 miles and there are options to just do the North or South loop. (Registration is now full)
Safetybird:
Bikepacking Roots’ Executive Director, Noelle Battle, will be joining experienced local ride leaders to guide folks on an awesome introductory tour of the Las Cruces area.
What to expect:
- The route will consist of a 38-mile loop, with approximately 19 miles of riding each day.
- Riders will encounter of mix of surfaces including dirt, singletrack and pavement.
- Because of the singletrack section bikes with 2.2 tires or larger are recommended.
- The only re-supply and water access along the route will be a stop for cold drinks & gelato around mile 12 on Day 1.
If you don’t have a full bikepacking set-up, some loaner gear may be available. We will also be onsite during the Summit on October 20th to assist any riders in preparation.
*We plan to cap the group for this event at 25 riders so register soon if you want to join. Also, if your plans change after you have registered, please let us know so we can open up space for others.
