July 20-21: Troy to Schodack Island State Campground
- Route: 40 miles of flat, paved roads.
- Location: Starts and ends at Upstate Bicycle Works in Troy, NY.
- Campground Facilities: Equipped with flush toilets, showers, and drinking water.
- Description: This gentle ride is ideal for those new to bikepacking or looking for a relaxed adventure. It’s a great opportunity to bring along a friend or partner to share in the fun, with the guide ensuring everyone has an enjoyable experience.
August 10-11: Kinderhook to Cherry Plain State Campground
- Route: 65 miles with a 2,000-foot elevation gain; optional extra 15-20 miles on gravel roads.
- Location: Starts and ends at OK Spoke in Kinderhook/Valatie, NY.
- Campground Facilities: Includes flush toilets, showers, and drinking water.
- Description: This ride offers a moderate challenge with a scenic route and the option for additional exploration on gravel roads. It’s perfect for those looking for a bit more adventure while still enjoying the comforts of a well-equipped campground.
September 14-15: Catskill to Round Top for Backwoods Camping
- Route: 80 miles with over 5,000 feet of climbing.
- Location: Starts and ends at Catskill Bicycle Supply Co. on Main St in Catskill, NY.
- Campground Facilities: None; this is a backwoods camping experience.
- Description: This is the most adventurous trip of the season, requiring advanced fitness and a love for the outdoors. Participants will face a challenging ride and spend the night camping in a remote area with no facilities, ideal for those seeking a deep connection with nature.
September 20-22: Roe Jan Ramble Camping Weekend
- Route: Ride in the Roe Jan Ramble charity event with distances from 10 to 100 miles.
- Location: Camping at Copake Falls State Campground.
- Campground Facilities: Two nights of camping.
- Description: This weekend event combines cycling for a cause with a community camping experience. Participants can choose their ride distance and enjoy a weekend of camaraderie and outdoor fun, all while supporting the Harlem Valley Rail Trail.
