Bikepacking Overnight with RAR.Philadelphia to Goshen Pond, NJ

A bikepacking trip to the Pine Barrens! RAR Philadelphia is excited to announce an overnight camping trip in October to Goshen Pond campground in NJ.

The group will be riding out to Goshen Pond Campground in Shamong, NJ on Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape land and camping overnight. Folks will be riding out to the campsite from Philadelphia, which is about 35 miles on the road and some sandy terrain (there will be some busy roads we will bike along and tricky parts towards the end of the route near the campground). The meeting point is the Ben Franklin Bridge (more details below on how to cross). Route and departure time will be provided prior to the trip. If you would like to join but would prefer to drive, please indicate that in your interest form.

Location: Goshen Pond in Shamong, NJ
Difficulty: ~Adventurous~ Due to the ramp closure on the bridge, there are a few options to get to NJ: bike on the bridge and then take your packed bike over 2 flights of stairs, Patco, or drive over the bridge and park overnight. Road and trails at 8-10 MPH pace.
Distance: ~35 miles one way.
Elevation gain: ~1200ft (round trip).

There will be a stop for snacks around the halfway point, and this is a no drop ride.

Cost: $5 for BIPOC, $10 for non BIPOC, $15 Solidarity rate
What to bring: Camping gear, bike, helmet, mask, rain gear, water, snacks (+ more!)

The ride is capped at 20 people! Please fill out the interest form by Wednesday, September 27 at 5pm to sign up. There are a limited number of spots available, and completing this form does not guarantee your spot. To center and intentionally create space for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and those who are new to bikepacking/camping, we’re prioritizing them in sign-up.
