Organized by Singletrack Samurai, this annual event has become a must-do for bikepacking enthusiasts who crave the thrill of off-road riding combined with the satisfaction of crossing an entire state on two wheels.

This challenge is designed for riders who are eager to push their limits while experiencing Florida’s natural beauty. The route utilizes as much off-road terrain as possible, providing a true test of endurance and navigation. Participants can choose from two start locations and have the option to ride south to the Florida Keys or Flamingo, or head north, making this challenge flexible for various skill levels and preferences.

• Open Pond, Conecuh National Forest, Alabama
• Fargo, Georgia

Route Options:

1. Open Pond, AL to Key West, FL: Approximately 1,500 miles
2. Fargo, GA to Key West, FL: Approximately 900 miles
3. Open Pond, AL to Flamingo, FL: Approximately 1,400 miles
4. Fargo, GA to Flamingo, FL: Approximately 800 miles

Participants will purchase route information, which is non-transferable and non-refundable, granting them access to this epic ride. The event follows a self-supported format, allowing riders to tackle the route at their own pace. While there is a grand depart, riders are free to traverse the course whenever they choose.

Event Details

This challenge adheres to traditional self-supported rules for those who wish to be officially scored, adding an extra layer of competition for the more seasoned bikepackers. For those who prefer to take a more leisurely approach, the rules are flexible, allowing participants to tour the route on their own terms.

To be scored, riders are required to use a SPOT or Garmin INReach Tracker, with their progress monitored on a public map created by Trackleaders. This not only ensures safety but also adds a communal aspect to the challenge, as participants can follow each other’s progress and cheer each other on.
