More than just a line on a map – learn the story behind some of our favorite routes!
The Waypoints webinar series is designed to be inspirational, educational, and practical all in one! Through this new quarterly webinar series, you will hear the story behind the route from some of the best bikepacking route creators we know. The series will feature routes from across the country that range in distance and difficulty. The presenters will share what inspires their route-making and how they approach the task of creating a route to share with others. In addition to learning about what makes each of the selected routes so special, each webinar will dive into what it is really like to ride the route and what you need to know before planning a trip.
Just like our Bikepacker’s Guide Virtual Workshop series, these webinars will be FREE and open to all! We encourage you to join us live for a chance to engage with our speakers – we usually have quite a lively discussion in the chat and make sure to build in plenty of time for Q&A.
See below to sign up for the first webinar of the series, co-hosted by our co-founders Kait Boyle and Kurt Refsnider.
Later this year we will co-host a webinar with our friends at Ride with GPS to deep dive into tools for route development and navigation. And subsequent workshops will feature Route Stewards from across the country talking about routes in both our Signature and Community Routes collections.
Tuesday February 25th. 5:30pm MST
Bikepacking Bear’s Ears National Monument
In our first webinar, Bikepacking Roots’ co-founders Kurt Refsnider and Kait Boyle deep dive into a route that is an important part of our organization’s origin story, The Bears Ears Loops.
We are excited to inspire riders to experience the region surrounding the Bears Ears National Monument in order to become passionate advocates for its continued protection.
As public lands are at risk once again in 2025, this webinar will talk about the importance of protecting our public lands and national monuments. Participants will also learn more about the geology and ecology of the region, all the beta on logistics and what to expect when riding the route, and so much more.
